Al Biernat's - Oak Lawn
The salmon and watermelon salad was awesome. Who would have thought that those flavors go together. Also, enjoyed seeing Roger Staubach in the dinning room. It was a memorable dining experience.
We had a great time even on a holiday (Father's Day). The food was exceptional and the service outstanding.
We had a wonderful time for Father's Day Celebration with my husband, son and finance.
The food at Al Biernat's never disappoints. We had a lovely Father's Day meal. We shall return.
We love Al’s. This was our first time going for brunch. I was happy their sea bass is available for brunch. It was a lovely time with wonderful service as always.
Father’s Day Brunch was terrific! The menu was special for the day, with some new featured items and several regular items. The service was attentive and friendly with no one having to wait for water glass refills or help with choices. The food was delivered promptly and was wonderful ! Overall, a great time was had by our family, thanks!
Al Biernat's is one of our most favorite restaurants in Dallas. The staff is so friendly and helpful, the food is outstanding, and it is a very comfortable, inviting place to be.
Lively Father's Day brunch atmosphere! Great food and service as always, even when super busy! They also had a cool white hat for the Dad's 👍👍
My "Yes" is with caveats. Here's a synopsis:
• Chilled seafood tower—very good
• Hearts of palm salad—very good
• Cowboy ribeye—just okay. Had a ton of gristle and unedible parts. Preparation was good, but cut was not that great.
• Petite filet—wife liked it okay, nothing to write home about
• Desserts—chocolate cake and creme brulee, both pretty good.
• good service, felt somewhat rushed at times, lacked some professional polish but server was attentive overall
good food, served in a loud and crowded environment. however, unlike any restaurant where you have a $300 bill afterwards, they try their best to hurry your food to you and turn your table as quickly as possible. So if you want a good and expensive meal fast, then this is the place to go.
Always get great service at Al Biernats. The Steak is always good. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in North Texas, and worth the drive from Fort Worth.
It was a special dinner planned for Father’s Day, we arrived promptly at 530 and were seated in a small area towards the front of the restaurant. There were very few diners in there at 530 , so it was easy to hear one another. Our waiter showed up and took our drink order and then disappeared for over fifteen minutes. We flagged him down and we asked if there were any specials as we were looking for a specific appetizer, and it was not on the main menu. My dates menu was filthy as well, and we asked for a clean one as it had food spattered all over it. He brought us a menu from the bar and forgot our drink order, he left and returned with it and we were able to order the appetizer as well as our meal. The restaurant started filling up and I traded places with my date as he could not hear me over the noisy table that was seated directly behind him. The waiter did come back to the table more frequently after the initial wait and we were then served our food. I had ordered medium well and the steak came out too bloody and he took it back. It came out the second time and it was not bloody inside, however it was charred out side, I just cut my losses and ate around the charred meat. The rest of the meal went by uneventful, as it was hard to hear each other. We have dined in restaurants all over the DFW metroplex including the Mansion and other upscale establishments and opted for this restaurant as its reviews made it sound so appealing. We were however not so impressed, I understand that the establishment makes more money by serving more individuals , however placing people so close together make it difficult for patrons to hear as well as enjoy their dates. We will consider this in the future when we plan on dining out in this area of town.
Our food arrived cold and very over cooked.Very bad food tonight. Big disappointment.
Excellent food and service as always.
Al Biernat's is always excellent. Everything is so fresh and beautifully prepared. The service is always superb. There is a certain old world meets new world ambiance. We recommend that everyone try this fabulous restaurant.
Food excellent, service was way too fast. Entrees came out before we had even finished appetizer. They gave us dessert as it was my husband’s birthday. But we were finished in less than an hour and that’s not the experience you want on a special occasion when you spend several hundred dollars. Way too cold in there also.
I took my son here for his Birthday. The food was great, as always. Our server was Cassandra. She was perfect, attentive, but not intrusive. I ordered the crab cake as my appetizer. I told Cassandra that I had worked at Del Frisco's for many years, and this crab cake was better than Del's. Our entrees were perfectly cooked. They brought out a huge piece of cheesecake for my son's Birthday with a Happy Birthday wish and a candle. This has been our go to restaurant for his Birthday celebration for years.
We look forward to celebrating many more special occasions here!
This is a crowded Dallas hot spot for the well-heeled Park Cities crowd. The food and service are outstanding. The special dry aged Waygu filet was superb. My group preferred it to the A5. The bottle of Groth reserve was perfectly served and paired beautifully with the steaks. The only downside is that the room is extraordinarily noisy and that makes conversation a challenge for a business dinner. Certain tables are better for private conversations (including the booths on the South wall), but good luck getting one of them unless you are a regular.
Superb, as always. Attentive staff with excellent suggestions, great food done perfectly.
Wonderful food surpassed only by the great service.
A fun and lively environment with the most incredible food! We always love eating at Al Beirnat’s!
It was great!! The only drawback was the tables were a little closely spaced and the loudness of the restaurant—it was a little difficult to talk to people across the table. Otherwise it was lovely.
We have been here twice now the first time was outstanding food and service were both great. This time however the food was great as usual but the service was far below great like it was the first time around. This time our waiter acted like he was too busy to take care of table. When our food was delivered we ate it and they cleared the plates long before our waiter even came and made sure everything was cooked to our liking and tasted good. Once he realized our plates were already gone he played it off like we ate really fast and that’s why he didn’t get to us. The food however was great just as we expected it to be and it will be the reason we keep coming back whenever we are in town.
Our server Karissa was awesome, she made the entire experience perfect!
Aside from the smokers on the patio during dinner and the noise from music and nearby tables, everything was fine. Cassandra, our server, was wonderful!
My mom was in town and I took her here and she had a great time! The service was fantastic and we both loved the food.
Al’s is a great place to celebrate !
The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. The services provided by the professional management and staff are the main reasons that we keep coming back. The old world elegance is a rare thing, and we value their focus to make sure that everything about the dining experience is excellent. Al Biernat and Brad make every guest feel welcome. I highly recomend this restaurant.
What a wonderful experience! I made a surprise reservation for my boyfriends birthday and Al Biernat’s didn’t disappoint! We arrived 30 minutes early fully expecting to have a drink at the bar while we waited, but as soon as I walked up without batting an eye I was greeted by an extremely friendly staff who went above and beyond. They even put us a in booth (which I had forgotten to call and specifically request). They also happily handed me the vegan menu without prompting or judgement. The food (both my portobello mushroom enchiladas and my boyfriends filet) was amazing. We will definitely continue to come back!
It was a very nice evening. Andrew was our waiter. He was the best waiter we have had at any restaurant in Dallas. The food was great!
It's always good! Great service , don't miss the Coconut Pie :)
The food was amazing, and Cassie is an amazing server -- she took such good care of us! We did have to wait about 30 minutes for our reservation, but the restaurant did the right thing and comped our first round of drinks to make up for the wait. Great place overall!

Steak was ok, nothing to get excited over.
We always appreciate the attention to our specific needs. Per usual, we had a lovely dinner and visit, with our son.
We are always treated well, whether ordering everything on menu or a simpler meal. Comfortable at Al Biernats,
I took my husband here for his birthday. Overall, I can say it was just okay/good. When we got there the valet was very rude. We walked into the restaurant and we could not see the hostess table. All we saw was the bar area, so we walked back out and the valet said in a very rude tone"What?! Is that not the right place?" I told him it was but we were unsure of where the front entrance was (I was thinking we had gone through a bar entrance). He replied "It's right there. To your left where the bar is." He was condescending about it and just flat out rude. Our waiter seemed nice but was extremely pushy. It was like he was trying to flip tables as fast as he could, but we were one of the only ones in there when we arrived. We both ordered steak and of course they asked how we would like it cooked. I wanted a ribeye cooked medium and my husband wanted a new york strip cooked medium rare. My steak was almost medium rare and my husbands steak was well done. I would expect at a restaurant like this, the chef would know how to cook a steak. If not, please do not ask how I would like my steak cooked. The sides and drinks were pretty good.
