Bazin's on Church
We love Bazins. It is one of our favorite restaurants. However, they closed the kitchen early even though we had a reservation and would not serve us. We drove 25 minutes just to be turned away. Very frustrating! If reservations can be made on open table for a particular time, it is assumed that the kitchen will remain open.
I have dined at Bazin's for years and I never been disappointed; however, I had trouble finding anything on the new menu that sounded appealing this time. I was with a group of former colleagues all of whom had eaten numerous times at Bazin's and all seemed puzzled by the menu. We eventually ordered and all seemed to enjoy our selections; however, I may hesitate to suggest Bazin's on Church for lunch in the future.
Terrific service and satisfying menu for Mother’s Day luncheon. I’m glad we had reservations because even then it was a 20 minute wait. But it was busy so I understand. Bazin’s on Church is a favorite and didn’t disappoint.
Thought there could be some different choices for the Mother’s Day brunch menu. But was very good.
A favorite establishment in Vienna. Very comfortable atmosphere. Bellia our server has been there forever. She is the best! I had their bacon wrapped scallops on saffron risotto. Excellent. A favorite of mine is their fried oyster appetizer. Accommodates gluten free. Prices reasonable. Great wine list.
Food was awesome. Lot's of guests results in a loud noise level, but we enjoyed the nice atmosphere, the good wine and service.
The food preparation was excellent. The mushroom soup was fabulous, intensely flavorful; the tagliatelle had excellent flavors; the apple crostata dessert was excellent, the crispy shrimp wasn't crispy but it tasted very good. The flatiron steak was fine. We will go back again.
Food was delicious and so were the cocktails!
Welcoming friendly atmosphere with excellent food and service
Great experience again. We had brunch last year on Easter and loved it then. Everyone in our group loved their meals.
My reservation was for 6:30. We were seated and waiting for the other couple. When we ordered the special was already gone which was the only thing I wanted on the menu. The waiter did not offer to do anything special, e.g. give me the same sides with a different protein, etc. In most restaurants the chef will let you know if there are only a few specials left so they can ask the seated guests. He did not mention it until I ordered and it was so early in the evening. He could have at least been more helpful, maybe bought me a drink or something but it ruined my evening there. I asked for a particular vegetable rather than the rice and instead of what I ordered I got some other vegetables in a cream sauce - not what I eat. Really ruined the restaurant for me.
Easter Brunch with family. Good food, great atmosphere and service. Only complaint was the mimosa which I know is very hard to mess up but for some reason I don’t think they used OJ. Other than that I highly recommend
The vibe is cozy, the brunch is great, and the cocktails are delicious. Will be back soon!
Good cocktails and good quality to the food. Pricing can be on the high side, but you get good food for the price. Parking may be difficult, but that's due to the building and neighborhood.
Tuesday lunch is quiet, but the service and food were outstanding as always!
It was such a great lunch and so pleasant. Our server was on top of everything and there when we needed him.
Our 34th wedding anniversary. We came in last minute. The staff were great our waitress (Olivia) was excellent. The food was beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients. Veal Milanese was worthy of an Enoteca in Lombardy, Italy. The Apple crostata for dessert was lip smacking wonderful. Nice wine list reasonable prices. We will be back soon.
Love the chopped salad — i could eat it every day!
Love the food here.
I’lol be back with friends. A wonderful place to relax & enjoy delicious food.
Aperitives bad, main course very good, bread some pieces from the day before. The cream brille was excellent. Service very good. Ambience ok for the hour. Overprice
Good food ! Nice ambiance. Lovely place in Vienna.
The food and our waiter was excellent ..the ambiance was very good a good mix of casual and formal dining. Appears to be very popular with the locals. They do need someone with more experience as a host. The young man at the door seemed a little confused...
As usual, Bazin's was busy on Saturday evening. Good was expectantly very good, service was pretty good. Overall, would like to see more check-in from the waitstaff rather than trying to signal them over.
The noise level is pretty high when busy, would also like to see some noise cancelling efforts made for a better experience.
Food was very good and enjoyed our waiter the tables are on top of each other so that’s reason for overall four stars
I love the atmosphere and the menu never disappoints! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, ready to make a suggestion on the menu choices or extensive wine list. Bazin's is our go to restaurant for special events or just a night out.
Very Good food consistently, but way overpriced!. 50$ /person for one glass of wine and an entree.
Easily the worst experience I've ever had at this restaurant. We waited 20 minutes to be seated after our reservation, and were promptly ignored for another 20. We had to ask for bread THREE times to even get it, and it came out so toasted it was hard to eat. The person I was eating with got their appetizer and I was told that they were out of mine. So there's another 20 minutes. We then waited 40 minutes to get our entree. My steak was COMPLETELY overcooked but since we had tickets I couldn't wait for it to be done properly. Meanwhile, the table that sat 30 minutes after us was done eating by the time we even got our entrees. Terrible experience here, I doubt I will go back. Food is overpriced, portions are too small, and the service was already not that great and its getting worse. It's like this place knows its the best place in Vienna and doesn't care anymore. Well, I don't care to go there ever again. A real shame.
> than 10 min to get greeted. Waiter was a “ping ponger” (does one task for one table and then heads back to bar/register/kitchen, then back and forth). Wait staff working a Friday night need to be able to touch base - even if through eye contact - with all tables when they swing through their station if not Service suffers.
Food was thoughtful and tasty. Plenty on the menu we want to try so we will be back and hope for a better server next time.
It has been years since I have been to Bazin's and they are just as great as when I was a regular. The cod was cooked to perfection. Great service too!
Wonderful brunch last Sunday. I loved the little extra touches like steamed milk for my coffee, and a gratis appetizer. Service was excellent especially for being so attentive to my spouse’s requests for extra water. The Belgian waffles with fresh strawberries were beautiful and ever so tasty. I plan to return as I very much enjoy brunches.
My dinner partner and I were very pleased with the quality of the food (veal Milanese) and wine. As usual, the service was excellent and friendly!
We had not been here in a couple of years and it was excellent, better than we remembered.
Fun place for a special occasion. Food was delicious and it was family friendly especially at an earlier time on Sunday night.
As always, a perfect dining experience was had!
Excellent as alway. The wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. The Mediterranean style dishes (stuffed flounder and veal Milanese) presented as well as they tasted. The wine list is extensive with a large selection of "by the glass" wines. It was a bit noisey but that was to be expected given the vibrant bar patronage on a Friday night.
I had gone to Bazin's years ago with my family and did not like it at all. On this occasion, my wife and I were using a gift card we had been given and we were delightfully surprised with the experience.
The food was excellent, very tasteful. The presentation was also excellent and served hot from the kitchen.
No one should go to Bazin's expecting a quiet atmosphere. It is a noisy restaurant...in large measure due to the crowd of guests that are always there; plus having the bar right in the dining area. I remember that from my first visit. But that said, the quality of the food and service will bring us back.
When this place first opened, it was amazing. We'd go there about once a month. As a true foodie, I'd have given it about a 7 or 8 out of 10 with the ambiance and service comparable in quality. (The Inn at Little Washington being a 10 overall). I'm considered a harsh critic.
Then, over the course of several years, the service crept down to about a 5-6 . Soon after, the food quality also descended to those lower numbers.
We'd heard rumors that the owner/chef had taken it up a notch, but were skeptical. It took nearly 2 years to convince my husband to give it another try. I'd say the food is back up to a 7 or 8. The ambiance is scaled back considerably, but the service was pretty good 6 or 7 out of 10.
We will be back, and we will bring friends again.
The food and service at Bazin's is outstanding. We will be back!
Excellent jazz brunch on a Sunday afternoon. I highly recommend. The food was delicious - we had the short rib hash and the country biscuit eggs benedict. The dirty bloody mary was just right and large in size. A surprise treat was the jazz combo that played music while we dined. Very special day!
