Excellent service and meal.
It was my Son’s 11th birthday
My birthday celebration. I love Benihana in Sterling..always have a great experience ! This time was not as good due to the Chef. We asked for mustard sauce and metioned the waitress went to the kitchen to get some. He shrugged his shoulders and said good luck. Normally one of the kitchen chefs prepares some rather quickly but unfortunately not this time. The waitress apologized..no big deal. But the Chef seemed to have an attitude during the meal prep and after the meal the other people at out table mentioned it too. I still like Benihana but would not like that Chef to prepare food for us again.
We booked Benihana for our son's 19th birthday. The cook was OK--still learning his bit. The host/waiter was good, but non alcoholic drinks and dishes were a bit overpriced. We had a nice time, but were not dazzled.
We had a great experience. Went to celebrate my son's 18th birthday. He had great time & the food was delicious. The presentation was very nice and service was superb. I would definitely recommend for the atmosphere, the excitement of seeing the food prepared right in front of you and the food is fresh and delicious. Great overall experience!
Dinner with fiancé & his parents. Male server/host came up to us as I was checking us in and said they were just 3 people multiple times as if I couldn’t be with them seemingly due to our different ethnicities . Chef at table seemed very inexperienced. Female server was nice enough. Sushi came out much later than anticipated when ordered as an appetizer. Shrimp tempura roll was very underwhelming but sushi combo platter was ok.
The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. I came here to celebrate a birthday because my last visit years ago was pleasant, but it’s evident that prices have gone way up while food portions have gotten smaller - real penny pinchers.
The food is under-seasoned and over cooked. This is the third time in the last six months we have been to the Dulles, VA location and the steak, ordered medium-rare, was prepared medium-well. Additionally, the onions were under cooked. We've noticed a decline in the quality of the cooking over the last six months. It was one of our favorite restaurants. However, the Dulles location is dropping on my list of fun, go-to places for dinner.
Overall very impressed with the food and service! Special thanks to the manager, Ron, for being so involved and making sure everyone had a great experience this past Father's Day Weekend 2018! We will definitely be back to try the sushi there!
It seemed that prices were higher because it was Father's Day. The portions were small and one chicken breast split between 4 people.
My family and I really enjoyed our time, the food, service and atmosphere was awesome.
The food was great. We hoped for a better seating as we made the reservations. We had to sit on the side of the table and our chef didn't even entertain us. Was more focused on a family and three kids and when dropping cooked shrimps to those kids. He just didnt even see my kid. I had to ask if he could do the same for my kid as he was also eagerly waiting. We appreciate the leftover veggies and food from cooking for the other family but we just felt side lined. We didnt feel equally important. I requested the host for another table she just ignored and said its fathers day when there were two other tables available.
Just sad... I like Benihanna but not this location and the staff...
Matsutake has better quality food at a better price.
Address: 13049 Worldgate Dr, Herndon, VA 20170
The waiter is very rude. It was a party of 7 that walked out because the waiter was very rude s d didn’t want to explain the menu to the part of 7! They complained to the manager and he did nothing to try and convince them to
The waiter was absolutely horrible, rude and obnoxious. I always leave tip but tonight I could not based on principle as his service was that bad. He was rude to my kids and today is my daughter’s birthday.
This was our second time here. First time last fall was very enjoyable. But we would definitely NOT recommend it following our recent visit.
GMAPS has the wrong address and directions simply took us around in circles.
Once there, the manager on duty could have not been more indifferent about our frustrations. We had 2 young children who expressed that they were very hungry yet service was very slow.
Five of us had to wait for more guests were found to be seated with us before a "Chef" (only there 6 months) was assigned to cook for us. She was a ** cook-and none of the 3 adults were happy with our orders. Very disappointing evening.
The chef and and food were outstanding. The issue was that our waiter was rude and grumpy. He was clearly irritated from the first moment he greeted us. Every question we asked was met with exasperation and disgust. Every drink refill was a bother. And the highlight was when we inquired about dessert. Upon asking what other ice cream selections were available beyond chocolate, vanilla and sherbet that was offered to our children, it was explained to us in an angry yell that they have green tea but it’s an exotic flavor and most people don’t like it.
Restaurants charging $20-50 per adult meal and $10-15 per kids meal have to do better than good food. That is table stakes when charging those prices. The service by this waiter wouldn’t have been acceptable at a budget diner. It was disgraceful and not a manager in sight to ask how it was going.
Waiting almost 2 hours past out reservation on Mother’s Day
Terrible experience for Mother’s Day. They were so severely overbooked people were waiting everywhere. Reservation was for 6:30. They were 1.5-2 hrs behind. Who could wait for that? We had to leave. FYI....don’t take on more reservations than you can handle.
This is not my first pick for Hibachi in the area. In fact, it's my last. The only reason we went there is because it was the only place last minute we could get a reservation. Their food is just okay and you'll wake up in the morning tasting garlic. Our server was great and very attentive. The cook seemed lifeless, not very entertaining and was confused with every ones order. It was a very busy night and I can understand it can be hard to "keep up the act," but an entertaining cook can make a bad Hibachi place better.
Everything was great. Never disappointed at Benihana’s
Very good a services
No odor due prepared food
Every body happy
Great fun, perfect place for a special dinner
Great food, phenomenal customer service!!! A+!
I would definitely recommend Benihana’s Dulles for special occasions like Birthdays and Anniversaries.
Birthday.. the cook was very friendly but the steak was supposed to be med , it was well done. The onions were not cooked anuff they were still crunchy. And the server was very slow my husband ordered a Coke, when it came it ended up being a Pepsi product which she did not like so he sent that back and ordered a beer and that took forever to receive his beer. So usually when it’s your birthday they sing at the table but that did not happen, but the server did say I could have a scoop of ice cream for the whole table but it took forever so we ended up leaving. I’ve ate at Benihana so many times and never really had this type of service.
Been going to this Benihana for years we love it very nice employees
We had a great chef, waiter and overall experience!
Great experience and the kids enjoyed Chef Jonathan.
Server tried to upsell by taking our order for Chateaubriand and insisted that order should be the
Chateaubriand "Supreme", that was much more expensive and included Lobster. When business partner said something he became upset and rude. Never delivered drink order and refused to work our table.
We have been to Benihanas many times, and this time the food, and especially the two sauces, tasted different and not as good as before. Still an ok place to eat, just different.
Took too long and we never ate.
Party of 13 celebrating my sons 20th birthday and we had a reservation. Obviously, we’d have a whole table to ourselves since large group yet they refused to seat us until all 13 were present. Once we were present, we waited almost 30 mins to be seated.
Food was ok and meal was ok.
However, we had requested a birthday song/dessert which never happened and we kept asking for it. After another 30 mins or so, ONE guy came by to “sing” but ended up coughing the whole way thru it. It was really lame.
The rest of the group never received their ice cream or tea they ordered.
Finally we said let’s just go and skip the included ice cream. The checks took forever and weren’t split right and had to be fixed.
All in all it was not a great experience but today it’s one of our most laughable family memories.
Show wasn't good. I specifically asked for an experienced chef when reserving, but first thing our chef said was that he was quite new! We go there mainly for the chef's show. It was disappointing this time.
Sandra was the best chef we’ve had there in forever and we are “regulars”. Best food and presentation
Server was not attentive to the needs of the table. There were kids at the table, first experience at Benihana, and he did not offer the kids any chopsticks tied together, refills didn’t happen by him, we had to ask another server. He made questionable comments regarding menu items request from the guests. He emphasized that fried rice was an extra charge several times as if we couldn’t afford to pay for it. Insulting to say the least. The manager walked by as we leaving and didn’t say a word. How about a thank for dining with us today.
Extremely disappointed customer!!
I made reservations, however, the our table was not ready, though the restaurant was not full and there were plenty of available tables. The hostess made no effort to have someone prep the table. When I asked her what was taking so long, she got upset and said the table was being prepped. Though I could see the entire restaurant from where I was standing and no tables were being prepped. I then told her she had 5 minutes to have our party at a table or we were leaving. She had us seated in 3 minutes.
Yes, a bit expensive, but this is entertainment. if you want to eat same plate without performance, it's better to go another.
It was great
The waitress kept forgetting to bring our steamed rice, after multiple reminders. But the real disappointment was our chef's lackluster performance. He did a few simple tricks, but nothing even slightly impressive. They clearly do not provide sufficient training to these chefs to create the Benihana experience at this location.
Appetizer late and cold.,dropped one in wife’s lap
Chef dropped first spatula of food in my lap
