Hands down the best sushi in town. Excellent service and creative cuisine.
Very friendly and attentive waiter. Delicious food! The sushi was extremely good! Will eat here again.
My first time there and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and restaurant. The food was fresh and they were agreeable to modifying as I wished. For example, I wanted the egg left out of the fried rice and it was no problem. Service was prompt and friendly. I actually had enough left over for another meal. The pineapple fried rice was my choice and pad Thai my husband's. Both were worth the trip!
Great Food and great service. Friendliest wait staff in town.
Birthday. They were attentive and the food was great!!
Delicious sushi, tuna poke, seagreen salad, and pork tonkatsu. Menu is varied and it is hard to decide what to order!
The chef added brown rice and I added the seaweed, to make the tuna poke into a poke bowl...that was a
Excellent server, too.
Service was quick and friendly. Food was quick, hot, and delicious!! I was visiting out of town and recommended by locals to stop there.
I love this restaurant. The food and service is always great. That having been said, though, sometimes the dishes are too spicy for me. I can order the same dish on different nights, and the heat can vary so much that I cannot eat the dish. Admittedly, I am a lightweight when it comes to hot spices, so if you love spicy Asian food, this is a win-win. We are not sushi eaters, we always order the thai dishes, but I have taken friends that are, and they say they love it. Overall, the quality of this restaurant is great. My husband and I eat there often.
This was a comfortable talking ambiance for 8 friends celebrating 2 birthday (free dessert for them). The service was friendly, helpful and kept us on time without rushing through our meal of appetizers (toast, lettuce wraps), wine, main course (Asian with rice or noodles) and dessert (with exchange of gifts). Of course, it was Thursday and pleasantly full but not over crowded. Highly recommend.
We had a great time here for dinner Saturday night. The staff and food was amazing.
Great food! Lots of vegetarian options and service was prompt. Good drink options as well in a nice setting.
Food was delicious. Well seasoned, meat was a little dry and the rice was instant rice. But overall a good place to go. Service was amazing. Our waiter was very well informed and helpful. Manager did a great job directing staff and turning tables.
The steak box lunch was terrific.
Restaurant was a little noisy but it was festive people. Our table was ready when we arrived. Sam was our waiter and was good.
I ordered shrimp asparagus and it was very good. My date ordered the teriyaki glazed salmon. It was overcooks and neither the salmon or veggies had any flavor at all, even after he poured the extra sauce on.
My creme brûlée was very good.
We have often enjoyed Bistro Saffron. Tonight, the restaurant was full and the entire staff was up to the occasion. While always very good, the experience this evening, on New Year’s Eve, was truly exceptional. My wife and I both had one of the specials which featured salmon, shrimp, rice and vegetables in a superb, perfectly spicy green curry sauce. Thank you for making this Nee Year’s Eve one to remember!
Frequent diner. Excellent food and service.
Great place for couples
I always enjoy my evening at Saffron when I am in Cape! The food, the service the comfort, wonderful after a long day!
Always a great dinner!
We were from out of town for an appt. this is a go to place when we visit. Nice alternative for meals.
The food was great as usual. The service was good too.
The only thing they have changed is they now have paper napkins. For the type of dining experience and the cost of the food. I think they should have kept the cloth napkins.
I know I sound picky, but when you spend $175.00 for a table of 4 in Southeast Missouri, I think cloth napkins should be a given. Thanks
Wish there were more open table restaurants in the Cape Girardeau area
We loved Bistro Saffron. Food is so creative, and always great! Wonderful sushi choices!
We were in the mood for great sushi and Bistro Saffron has it under the capable design of Paula. Paula creates amazing sushi rolls not on the menu that will leave you wondering why you ever settled for California rolls. She asked us if we liked shrimp (we do) and how many rolls we wanted. We then allowed her to surprise us. The sushi most definitely did not disappoint!
I always enjoy visiting Bistro Saffron when I am in Cape for business. Often I am by myself. I am always welcomed as an old friend and made to feel comfortable. I enjoy the healthy fresh menu.
The food was phenomenal, as usual! The service is very attentive.
Our party of 7 secured reservations through Open Table. We arrived promptly for our reservation and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. We started off with 2 orders of Saffron Toast (which our waitress recommended) for an appetizer. The bread is crusty with a sweet taste, the cucumber relish added on top gives the toast a nice spice level. The consensus of the group was the items we all ordered were tasty but we all longed for more flavor and seasoning. We ordered a variety of menu items including Pan Stemmed Dumplings (I was told this item tastes more like fried dumplings and not the stemmed kind she was hoping for but still tasty). Also ordered was Chef's Fried Rice (good but bland). 2 orders of lettuce wraps (good but bland). Salad with Ginger Dressing (delicious). 2 orders of Eclipse Sushi Rolls (delicious). Octopus Salad Sashimi (delicious nice flavor level). Child's portion of fried rice. 2 Orders of Miso Soup (average Miso Soup, still yummy). We did not order dessert. 5 stars for the staff they are wonderful. 5 stars for atmosphere. 3.5 stars for the food (well prepared but a few items were just too bland to be memorable). Overall, I would still go again and recommend Bistro Saffron.
I always enjoy having a meal here when I am in Cape. I feel recognized and welcome. The food is wonderful.
I enjoyed the food and had great aervice
We had lunch and dinner there and the food was excellent, the waitress very attentive and the atmosphere very nice and one cna sit inside or outside weather permitting. Highly recommended.
This was a birthday celebration for a friend. Our waitress Megan K. was GREAT! She made the night very special for her!
I booked Saffron for Valentines day with my husband and we absolutely enjoyed our dinner. The ambiance and food make for a great date night! Thank you to the wait staff for a great experience! We will recommend Saffron to our friends and family
Great Thai food. Delicious sushi. Service has always been outstanding
We had house guests who wanted sushi for dinner. Our 12-year experience has been that Saffron has consistently good sushi, and we have had sushi in Japan and everywhere from NYC to SF. Brian, the long-time manager, was the sushi chef. We ordered off the menu chef's-choice sushi dinner for four. The first course was a tuna tartar salad with red and white tuna, followed by a sashimi platter with red and white tuna, salmon, yellow tail, and avocado. All the sashimi was high quality, very fresh and tender. This was followed by a series of unique makizushi (rolls) a la Brian. The entire experience was excellent from beginning to end, including a junmai ginjo from their sake list. Brian asked for a critique, but we were speechless with satisfaction. We briefly considered their signature dessert, fried ice cream, but we were already quite full.
Great sushi, food was awesome overall. Service at times felt like they forgot about us. But it was a great time, asked for no seeds on something, they went above and beyond to accommodate.
My husband and I hadn't eaten at Saffron's in a number of years, so since we were in town for an appointment we decided to give it a try. We used to love the Panang beef. This time we ordered it though it was fairly disgusting. It had a strange, unsavory tang to it, an overt tomato flavor and the beef was tough and rather chewy. Not at all like it used to be. That said, the service was good and we were there at 3:30 pm, a time when restaurants in general aren't always at their best. In any case, though, I don't think we will be back for another long while. On the bright side, our server was very nice and attentive.
We enjoyed an excellent dining experience at this independent restaurant. The food is incredible. The wait staff is as knowledgable as they are attentive and fun. This is fast becoming our go to restaurant for special occasions.
Very good Asian fare. Warm welcoming staff. I enjoyed my meal.
Great service and good food. One of the best restaurants in Cape
Great food as usual
