Nice experience, sat outside prior to seeing a movie
Overall good experience, would visit again
Wonderful food! And locally owned!
My first time dining here. Food and service were terrific. Nice selection of wines too. Definitely will be back. .
What a delight. The food is always excellent, the owners are wonderful people.
It’s always difficult to make choices because every thing is so good.
At the door...friendly, smiling faces. Seated...with water, menus and bread. Food...made to order while we visited over a newly found wine from their extensive list. Food arrives as it is cooked (means it’s hot!), food all eaten or in Togo boxes...a very reasonable check comes. Better than that??? We give it a 10!
This is a small, warm and intimate restaurant where tables wrap around the bar and kitchen. It is owned by a lovely couple. She greets the guests and manages the operations. He is oversees the kitchen. They both have a passion for good wine and good food. You cannot go wrong whether it is date night or getting together with some good friends. It is also very conveniently located next to the local Agoura movie house. My wife and I came late one evening while they were wrapping things up and they re-opened the kitchen and made us dinner!! Who does that??
Great food and great staff!!
Always love stopping by Boar Dough for an impromptu date-night. Service is always genuine & beyond inviting. Food is excellent too. And you can’t ever go wrong letting any of the staff pick your wine for you... Cheers!
Had the mothers day sunday brunch. the selection was great and the food was also great
Boar Dough has a great selection of wines and food. You must save room for Beignets!!!!!!! The atmosphere is relaxed and warm!
I love the owners, the staff and the food! Wine list is spectacular and many times they have a few bottles of something not on the list. Mary's chicken is a favorite as well as any pizza (good size as an appetizer to share as well as a meal) plus their specials tempt us to stray from our favorites. It's a cozy, warm place to be any day!
Truly excellent food and an amazing selection of wines. The short ribs were melt-in-your-mouth delectable, and the wine flights were fantastic.
Boar Dough is a favorite. We eat dinner there twice per month. Steak frites with the best fries, butternut squash soup with crème fraîche, and Lake Superior whitefish. And great wine. The best thing I’ve ever had is there periodic special crab leg, and lobster, pizza, Scampi style. Plus they’re into rock and always play it. Janis, Jimi, The Who, Stones and The Beatles in the window tinting. Love this place. Are you experienced? Well I am
Boar Dough was delicious and their service is fantastic! A large selection of wine, charming ambiance and the prices are fair! We will definitely return!
Our party of 8 had such a wonderful time at Boar Dough. The service was wonderful, the food delicious...and we were so comfortable that we stayed for over four hours. They had to kick us out. Would highly recommend for a date spot, groups or a ladies night out. Just wonderful.
Charles was a great host. We enjoyed our wine tasting as well as the food we ate. It was exactly what we were looking for!
We have enjoyed other evenings here so decided to introduced our friends to this spot! They loved it as well! Each visit we mostly try their specials. Food is excellent! It’s a cozy spot with music decor! If you love wine plenty to choose from. Give yourself enough time if you’re planning on eating before seeing a movie.
We just love this place. Food is always excellent. Owners are always there. They always check to make sure of any time constraints as many people stop here prior to catching a movie. Thoughtful food, servers, owners! Just a GREAT little place.
We've dined at Boar Dough many times now and I'm finally getting around to writing a well deserved review! What makes this place so special is how much the owners care about your experience. They want you to enjoy yourselves and it's apparent from the moment you walk in. The service is always incredibly attentive, as you have Marcus, Charles and Joanne all checking on you to make sure you've been taken care of so you're never left waiting for your food or drink to arrive. Speaking of the food, it is some of the best you'll find in the area. I know that sounds like hyperbole but it's true. Start with the bacon wrapped dates stuffed with Manchego...you won't be disappointed. For an entree, the short ribs and polenta is outstanding so we always order this dish along with something else, either one of their other evening specials or something off of the menu. And for not being a dedicated Italian restaurant, their pizzas are delicious! It all starts with the crust, and they've managed to come up with a recipe that makes theirs really stand out. Finally there are the desserts. We don't normally get to order a dessert as we're normally too full, but the past two times we did and were rewarded handsomely for doing so. On our previous time dining there we got the berry cheesecake, which was a special dessert not normally on the menu and it was outstanding! Even my wife who normally doesn't eat cheesecake thought it was the best she has had. And this past week we got the Blueberry Bliss flambé with goat cheese, tyme, and honey on top of their pizza crust which was mind blowing. We'd never had anything like this before. So if you're looking for a great place to grab some dinner in Agoura Hills, I can't recommend this place highly enough (apparently their Sunday brunch is to die for but we haven't yet made it there for that).
Quite surprised with this gem of a restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. It is place worth returning to again and again.
Wow! Great menu, much to explore. Our first visit, there will be more. The spicy fried chicken and slaw were tasty, moist, and perfect in every way, matched well by the house red sangria. Steak frite was also very nice, but the potatoes were a bit heavy, just our preference for smaller fries. The flat breads on other tables looked delicious and smelled great, they are definitely on our list for the next visit. The wine list is intriguing, worth visiting over, and the happy energy in the space made us feel like part of the family.
The decor and friendly atmosphere when first walking in immediately made my group excited to be there. Excellent food and service followed. Will definitely return and recommend to all.
Cute place but really expensive for the ambiance and food.
Perfect spot for delicious food in a warm, intimate environment
We’ve been to Boar Dough several times & it never disappoints!!
Call me a fool for giving this place three tries to get their service up to snuff. Cute space, decent wine, and better then average food. Service remains consistently poor and unchanged. Tonight was my last visit to this place. We ordered four dishes for the table. Two were identical salmon dishes and only one was delivered. The second one was delivered only after everyone else was done eating. The apology was minimal and the token offer to buy my after dinner coffee was a day late and a dollar short. They also cleared the table while we were having after dinner conversation. I worked as a waiter in a formal restaurant in London, plates are not cleared while others are eating or talking. Finally we were asked to move to another table so that a larger group could be accommodated. I will never eat here again. They can invite me back fo free and I won’t be going. My time is to precious to waste being treated poorly. I hope this is an opportunity for them to learn and rectify problems so that others can have a nice evening out.
It was very nice for our first time there. We planned a movie so we couldn't stay as long as we would have liked. They were very friendly but rushed. Would help if they hired a couple more people.
Fantastic, delicious food - always! Great wines, too, to accompany your meal. Very cozy space; love how the owner engages with us.
Had been meaning to try this place for a while now and did the other night.
Staff and the owner were all amazing and the food delicious and super high quality
I will be back often
Our favorite neighborhood place!
A must whenever we are back in town...
Couldn’t be happier with our meals and wine! Super staff and ambiance... can’t wait to go back! HIGHLY recommended!!
One of our favorite local spots. Food is excellent, owners and waiters friendly.
Always a great ambience, delicious food and wine and excellent service.
I had family in town and we had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner. Food comes out in kind of random order and my brother got all bent out of shape because his app salad had not come before his entree. but the tastes were so good. Classic Prime rib - Polenta was unique and delicious. Hangar steak really good. Kids enjoyed pizza and fried chicken. Marcus our waiter made it fun. A great night
A wine list to die for. Owners you want to be your friends. Food you always want more of. Just love this place.
Amazing!! Couldnt’ recommend it higher!!
We love us some Boar Dough! Simply put, BD is the BEST RESTAURANT (and by a fair margin!) in our entire western Conejo Valley area. Charles and Joanne (owners, and chef and hostess, respectively) are very friendly and able folks. They know what they are doing. Their menu is amazing (my god, the polenta!), along with their ample wine and beer list. Billboard sized pics of '60s rock and rollers line the walls and windows, and they play a lot of Beatles and other classic rock (several flatbreads have Beatle style names...). We've also been in when they are playing chill electronica, too. We love it there. A week later we stopped in and celebrated my 60th birthday with them. Fun time had bey my entire family. If you get the chance, go.
While the service was friendly the food left little to be desired. We had the seasonal butter nut squash pizza and crispy pork belly tacos. The crust on the pizza was very good but there was very little squash on the pizza and the pieces that were there were to firm for my taste. I should have thought twice before ordering the pork belly tacos as I should have remembered pork belly is another term for "fatty bacon". Not very appetizing as you are biting into a large piece of fat. We also had a half carafe of medium priced red wine and got out of the restaurant for about $75 after tip. Not exactly a high value for the two items of food and overpriced wine that we had.
