Bombay Palace - London
It is part of an international chain with branches in New York, Beverley Hills, Montreal, Kuala Lumpur, Brampton and Hyderabad.
Bombay Palace is glamorously situated, warmly decorated and welcoming. But its perfectly cooked and imaginative dishes are what really make it stand out, with an especially superb use of the tandoori oven. It offers an excellent and authentic introduction to Punjabi cuisine, and the opportunity to sample delicious food from elsewhere on the Indian sub-continent.

Great service. Attentive but not overwhelming. Food was excellent. Clearly a very popular restaurant and understandably so. Every dish we had was superb, great blend of spices and heat! Highly recommended.
Food is really great and authentic
excellent food - chilli prawns were extra spicy and delicious. not too expensive and good level of service. would definitely return
This is the best Indian food I've had in a long time.
The food was incredible. After a week of eating less-than-appetizing food throughout London, the robust seasoning and delicious flavors of Bombay Palace was a welcome reprieve. The minced lamb samosas were incredible. The minced lamb and the Chana masala were also just incredible. The naan was hot and fluffy and perfect. This was easily the best meal we had in London—by leaps and bounds!
Slightly disappointing with the quality of food at the price it is marketed at. The price of fine dining without the taste and ambience.
Food was really good but i ordered the leg of baby lamb and it was a massive sharing portion which they did not tell me about. They should probably put on the menu that its ideal for sharing, especially after the large portions of starters. Very tasty!
Good experience food is great. Waiters need a bit more training.
New Year’s Eve dinner. Our reservation was for 8pm and were told when we were seated that we had to be out by 9:30 or we would be seated somewhere else. I appreciate the management being up front, but didn’t appreciate being rushed through our meal. There was just the two of us and when we asked if one order of rice and bread would be enough-we we’re told no. We order two of each and when they arrived at our table it was clear one would have been enough.
Food decent but not great. Service needs a major retake. They ignored us. Some menus are missing pages. Overall far less than expected of a London Indian restaurant
Always great food ! Nice service! Try it you will love it😎
Wife birthday dinner, table of four. We were welcomed warmly and received well. Seated at a nice table with attentive polite staff throughout the service.
We choose a cluster of starters share plates which you don’t often see in restaurants in the UK.
I score individually the following:
The Pani puri: 10/10!, 6 pieces a plate of £7 + had to be a a 10
Shami kebab: 8/10
Chilli paneer: 6/10. Spicy ! Which we were ok with
Chilli Garlic Chicken: 8/10. Spicy! Needed a another portion! Should have a main option.
Ragda pattice: 3/10. Nah.
Jaipuri bhindi: 7/10. Rare to get this.
Lamb Biryani: 6/10. Was ok
Kulfi: mango 5/10 - Malai 8/10
15% service charge. Service was very good so not an issue.
Parking. Could be challenging. We went Boxing Day / Sunday for 7pm. Winter wonderland traffic was peak. Single yellow, off duty permit bays hard to find. But we got there in the end.
Yes recommend and would do again to try other things.
Expensive but great food. Some of the dishes where outstanding.. lamb chops (amazing!) fish curry and minced lamb and lentils. I have tried quite a few dishes but these are my favourite.
A disappointing experience. Despite having booked a table the waiting staff appeared to be at a loss to seat us and scurried around asking others what to do.
We had problems placing orders and inordinately long waits to receive drinks orders - a 10 minute wait to be told a gin we had ordered was not available and then another equally long wait for the replacement. This despite it being a very quiet night with only a few tables occupied
The food was OK. The vegetarian dishes excellent, the chicken and lamb were not that tasty.
The rice and naans were excellent
Top local experience.
A regular, that I keep rebooking, week in, week out. Fantastic food and ambiance. Best Indian I know in London. Staff are evidently well looked after by the management - I recall they were paid over many months when the property was refurbished three years' ago - and this translates into superb service. Always felt most welcome!
Very amazing nice staff with top serve food
Not worth a visit.
Do try: jamavar, ghymkana , Trisha, veraswamy, amaya, tamarind, ...
Same price and you go home feeling you had a special experience!
I have been coming here for years, and still regard it as the best Indian in London. Well worth a visit!
Excellent quality food and good service, pricing reasonable for London. Easy to get to from Oxford Street or via tube...would definitely go again.
Gentleman taking our order was pushy but food was fantastic overall (nothing unusually special), service wasn’t great for the price point
I picked this restaurant as we had visited the one in Malaysia (which is really nice).I also decided to come herebecause it was my birthday and therefore a special occasion and wanted to go to a “high end” Indian. Hassan was very polite and nice and we received good service from him. Unfortunately, I found one of the senior managers a bit rude especially when I questioned the bill as my cocktail was £9.95 not £12.95 as they had tried to charge me. I’m pretty shocked they also charge such a high price for pretty sub standard popadoms. We ordered paneer and chole batura for starters, the batura was so undercooked we complained and a new one was made which was also undercooked. The paneer portion was very small and didn’t taste that great to be honest. We also had a dhal makhani and that was nice and the nan bread was nice. I was a little disappointed as I mentioned it was my birthday on the booking and was not even offered a small dessert to help make the occasion more special. I also found it very strange When asked to move to a table nobody was sat and was repeatedly told “we have to check with the manager”. I will stick to my usual favourite place mint leaf in future as the food is much much better.
Service was excellent. We were promptly greeted and seated. The staff visited our table just the right amount of times to make sure we were happy, but not to intrude on our conversations. The food was great and was brought out in wonderful pots that kept everything warm and shareable. We will definitely return on our next trip to this neighborhood. We were made to feel most welcome on our first night in London.
Overall a good experience; however, the service could have been better .
Food was excellent, service was good.
Space between tables are little too close and waiters/waitress has to squeeze between tables and I had to move my chair several times during the night.
Service and good amazing!
No way near as good as usual - I took my Indian friend and he wasn’t impressed either - I’ve been eating Indian and Pakistani food for 44 years and I have to say I was very disappointed. The tandoori kitchen was Luke warm not on a hot plate and tasteless. I’m really surprised as all the other times we have been the food has been excellent...
An old favourite that has been recently refurbished. All good and enjoyable. Worth the occasional visit.
Very average food and customer service. Except for the manager who did try and look after the guests, the rest of the staff was just not interested in serving us. We had to keep calling the staff to even get water.
Great food and service - hadn’t been here in years but will now become a favourite locally!
Very enjoyable dinner at Bombay Palace. Food was very good and authentic. Had shekh kebab and lamb biryani + naan. Service was very good. Would recomend.
The food served at Bombay Palace was very good but view was that prices here were quite inflated in comparison to similar restaurants.
First time here. Meal was very good, service excellent. Not sure about location but, since we were near by, it was convenient. We would probably go back again.
chose this restaurant as it was in a good location for old friends coming from different directions. it had good reviews. the food and service were excellent. some of the best Indian food i have eaten. Good fresh ingredients and imaginatively prepared. spacious and quiet . would certainly use again
Amazing good food, the best i have ever had, honestly having had indian food for many years this place was absolutely amazing, delicious. Incredible. Service was also really great, very friendly and professional staff all around. Overall an amazing dinner will definitely return again
Situated near Marble Arch this a ‘posh’ Indian restaurant with great ambiance. Staff very attentive and food excellent.
Initially we were given a corner table, we asked to move and the staff were great. The portions are large and we couldn’t finish mains.
The prices are high, maybe the area?? Made even more so when 15% service added to bill.
I would recommend this as a high end restaurant - careful not to over-order.
