Brunswick & Hunt
We took a total foodie with us to experience what we remembered as excellent food. I have to say that we were quite disappointed.
When we visited B&H last summer for dinner, the food was perfectly prepared and the plating was beautiful. This time - not true.
The chicken which we recalled was roasted not fried (and yes, we saw that on the menu) was dry. The squab was too little meat for the amount of work. The side dish of carrots was unbelievably unattractive and undercooked. (There’s al debts and then there’s impossible to cut.)
Great little neighborhood gem. Been there many times, and will be back many more.
I'm so happy this great restaurant is within walking distance of my house. The food is always delicious, the service is great, and everyone we've encountered there is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it!
Beautiful Antique bar, stashed away just off the main road, you’d never know it was there. A hidden gem.
Our first visit. Wonderful experience. Good food. Friendly staff!
Wonderful meal and service.
The staff is great from beginning to end of the service. The menu is just the right length and breadth. The wine list has great value and the ambiance is spot on. I liked the experience so much I made an immediate booking to return with more friends. It's hard to stand out in a market filled with quality but Brunswick & Hunt manages brilliantly.
Great atmosphere, excellent service, and amazing food. We've been there a couple of times, and both were equally stellar experiences.
The bar is beautiful and the restaurant had a good feel to it. It was quiet enough that we could hear each other talking, even though the restaurant was full. Most of us really enjoyed our food. The house specialty fried chicken was a little underwhelming with the horseradish sauce all over it. Prices were a bit high for the portions, but overall we had a nice time.
Great food and service!
Went for brunch on Sunday. The food was not very hot, the bacon braised pork benedict was quite salty and the salad had little flavor. After the meal, our entire party did not feel too well either - not sick or anything, just that not so good feeling after a not so good meal. We've had dinner there before and it was ok. I think if I did recommend this place, I would say for drinks only. Bartenders and staff are great, drinks are amazing and atmosphere is cool.
Everything was good except for the wait time for our food. But, our server was nice and took care of a couple drinks to thank us for being patient.
We have been to Brunswick & Hunt 4 times now and have had great experiences every time! The brunch is fantastic- I feel like the menu would be appealing to anyone. I brought my parents here last time and they loved it too.
They are generous with their portions and beignets were really good!
Thanks blah blah blah
Had a reservation and noted it was our anniversary and we were seated at a table immediately adjacent to the kitchen with staff bustling past for entire meal. Ordered the vegetable hash. Menu stated vegetables were carrots, corn, tomatoes, okra. Served carrots, green beans, onions, potatoes. Probably won't return.
I ordered the chorizo scramble and it was delicious. Biscuits are placed in plain view and I also couldn't resist adding one to my breakfast. The meal was filling and extremely tasty and the service was prompt. I ordered a coffee and was pleasantly surprised that a french press was brought to my table. I really enjoyed Sunday brunch here and would recommend this place to friends. Great food, service, and atmosphere.
Had brunch on Sunday with family. Mimoso (fresh squeezed OJ), coffee (french press) and tea (loose leaf) were all thoughtfully prepared and good. Everything we ordered to eat was spot on. Homemade biscuits, yummy pork, decedent hollandaise sauce, fresh salad and the most interesting pear palette cleanser.
Although not the restaurant's fault, parking was a nightmare at 9am! Give yourself time to park or get a ride.
Had reservations but my friend and I enjoyed sitting at the bar so much that we stayed there. Delicious craft cocktails and small bites. Sweet small space with lovely dark wood interior. I'm excited to return for brunch or dinner.
Food review is mixed. My pork chop was excellent, however, although my husband’s steak was cooked properly to rare, it was tough—full of connective tissue. His broccoli side had burned florets and hard stems. Our cauliflower side was properly cooked: firm but cooked. Seasonal salad of Bibb lettuce was fresh, not overly dressed, however the avocado was hard/inedible. The cocktails we had were excellent. A nice neighborhood scene with a busy, chatty bar.
We have dined often at Brunswick & Hunt. The food is always great with a menu of delicious choices. As good as the food is we love the service. The experience is inviting and friendly. Wine selection is not just listening but includes samples of suggested pairings. We are treated as valued friends. Always a pleasure to return.
Fries were so overlooked and too salty. Hamburger tasteless and over priced
Love coming here for special occasions or date nights. I've seen people bring their kids, but I personally wouldn't want to (for dinner at least) as it's a lovely spot for a date and the food is so good I want it all for myself instead of sharing with my kids!
This is my fave for breakfast brunch This time around service was slow and food was cold and lacking in flavor . I think the main guy that runs this place had a day off or something....I still highly recommend this place
Gracious seating for a party of 6 in a small space, attentive service. Substantial fare, excellent ingredients, delicious bacon and grilled flavors. Not pretentious but a feeling of real substance. Pungent Bloody Mary, reasonable cocktail prices for brunch. Satisfying!
We have dined here a few times, but this is the first brunch that we tried. Going online and making reservations shortly before we headed that way proved to be a wise move.
I had their version of an Eggs Benedict; it was innovative yet familiar. My spouse also enjoyed her Goat Cheese Mushroom Scramble with Al Dente String Beans.
The service was attentive, without being obtrusive. One of the things we appreciate about Brunswick & Hunt is that they change the menu frequently, so there is always something new to sample. Anyway, all in all our brunch was a wonderful experience.
Great food in a small, intimate setting. I had the Brunswick fried chicken, which was amazing. Other dishes at the table stood out as well. That history of the gorgeous Brunswick bar and oil painting are also worth asking about!
One of us had fried chicken and the other had the pork chop. Both were very good. The pork chop wasn't dry. Chicken was nicely crusted without being greasy. The accompaniments were delicious. Beet salad was extraordinary.
If the beignets are being served, do not resist! They are delicious.
Restaurant can get a little loud with the background music, but they very kindly turned it down whe.mn I asked.
Our server was friendly and personable. He suggested beignets for the table while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. They were delicious with French pressed coffee. The brunch was also delicious and filling. The ambience had great natural lighting, the place was spacious and the walls were beautifully decorated. I would definitely come back again!
Great service, great food, and great drinks. Couldn’t ask for more.
Such a nice place; we keep going back. Exceptional quality but also comfortably neighborhoody. Love that the menu offers so many vegetable dishes, that everything can be shared, that the frites are exceptional, and that there’s such a thing as the El Saguaro cocktail.
My husband and I went here for our anniversary and loved it! Friendly staff, excellent food, and great ambiance.
First time at this restaurant. I like the size of it, not too large or small. It was quiet when we arrived at 5:45 pm and by the time we left at 7:30 the restaurant was full but the noise level was fine. We all enjoyed all of our dishes and cocktails. Edger was our waiter and he was very helpful with explaining items on the menu. I would definitely go back to this restaurant.
A somewhat limited and eclectic menu. Great service, but there are better options in the neighborhood.
Great neighborhood restaurant. Mostly been here for brunch! Great bacon and potatoes!
Love this place. From the gorgeous reclaimed bar that is the centerpiece of the decor to the adventurous menu selections. The waitstaff is informative but do not hover. Every time I eat there, they don’t disappoint.
I eat here often. Like the food and service. Sometimes quite noisy but still worth the visit.
We made a brunch reservation and were seated right away. Food was good. Ambiance was great, hipster cool. Service was passable, and then at the end someone came up to us and pretty much asked us to leave so that they could have our table. It put a bad taste in our mouths but we were understanding. However on our way out we noticed two other tables that had not been cleared and no line. It ruined the experience.
Treated a good friend for dinner, everything was just perfect. Service, the menu, wine list, cocktails were great, food was delicious, great quality ingredients and seasoning were just right.
