Bud & Marilyn's
Biscuits are amazing...I was sorry I was too full to eat my second one but on the other hand I can enjoy that deliciousness again tomorrow. Excellent, excellent service! Great fried chicken. Looking forward to going back.
First time for Brunch at this vibrant but a bit noisy restaurant. Menu and Cocktail selections were quite varied, large - portioned and delicious . We were always happy with our Dinners at B&M's but we'd definitely go back for Brunch!
Food was great!! Service was not bad but they were very busy so didn't make it to our table to check on us much. Otherwise, it was great experience and food/drinks were perfect!
My friend and I went here for dinner over the weekend - everything was fabulous! The lamb was the best I have ever had. I highly recommend Bud and Marilyn’s!
Amazing service! David was an excellent server - personable, friendly, and professional. The food was delicious, especially the pierogies! The noise level was a little much, but overall the ambiance was cozy and cool.
My husband and I met our college son here for dinner before a show. I has a Froze’ (a slushy rose’ drink), hubby had beers. I ordered the Arctic char (amazing!!!), my son had the steak which he loved, and my husband had short rib stroganoff. We were happy with our choices. Too full for dessert😞. Next time we come I have to taste the pierogies!! Our waiter was great, and he had the kind of voice that is great for a noisy place. We could hear him no problem over the crowd which rarely happens! I thought he should do voice-over work😃 Highly recommend!
I’m very conflicted writing this review. I loved the ambiance and vibe of the place. My wife and I arrived on a Saturday night at 4:30 for 5:15 dinner reservations. We grabbed seats at the bar and ordered 2 drinks. We informed the bartender we had dinner reservations. She walked over to the other bartender and said “they have dinner reservations” and rolled her eyes. Lol cool.. My wife and I own a restaurant, so we didn’t let her judgement phase our enjoyment. Pretty sure she figured we weren’t going to tip because we were dining in. Jokes on her. We left her $5 and would have ordered another drink if she was more pleasant.
Our waiter was nice enough. He didn’t seem to really have too many recommendations or much knowledge of food. We ordered 2 appetizers, Nashville hot buns, and 2 entrees. Within 2 minutes of placing our order, the first appetizer was out and not even a minute later came the second. All the other dishes were delivered less than 10 minutes after the two appetizers. Dinner felt really rushed, which we weren’t thrilled about.
The food itself was good. Our two seafood dishes tasted too much like seafood which is never a great thing. The star of the show was the meatloaf. Funny - I never order meatloaf for dinner, but I felt inclined to do so after reading from other reviews how delicious it was. Hands down - fantastic. Everything else was just good.
The noise level of the place was overwhelming. The music was way too loud, which causes the guests conversations to be louder than the music and with such a tight space, it was not a pleasant mix. My wife and I tried having a conversation, but after a few minutes we gave up and ended up just listening to the two groups talking loudly next to us.
All in all I must say I was a little let down by the whole experience. We drove an hour from the AC, NJ area to try Bud & Marilyn’s (a restaurant I’ve wanted to try for a while). I’m happy we experienced it, but not sure we would ever go back.
Brunch is my favorite meal, and Bud & Marilyn's did not disappoint. We ordered the shakshuka, which had just the right amount of heat to be interesting without being overwhelming. Fun brunch cocktail menu, too. We'll be going back, for sure.
Staff was so kind and accommodating! Food was impeccable, we came for brunch and I ordered the caramelized Apple French toast. Noise level is a little loud, but it is perfect for a quick and casual date. Definitely would come again!
The food was excellent! The service was outstanding. The small things were done very well. Attentive knowledgeable server who was quick to get us what we needed. I will definitely be back.
We go to Bud & Marilyn's occasionally because we really like their food and the place. It's definitely a place to visit because you'll get a reliably good meal.
The food is tasty and so are the drinks. Service is great as well. Nice for a dinner for 2-4 people but wouldn’t recommend for groups
We had a note about a birthday in our reservation. Before we even mentioned it during the meal, the server surprised us with a candle for our birthday guest. It was such excellent service!
Cinnamon roll was incredible. Shrimp Benedict was good minus overcooked bland shrimp. Bloody Mary needed some more zing.
Amazing food and atmosphere. We got our food extremely quickly and staff was very pleasant!
Everything from the food/drinks to the service was fantastic. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and the specials. The drinks were on point. Can’t wait to come back!
The hostess went out of her way to accommodate our large party. The food was very good and a bit out of the ordinary. We'd definitely go back.
Thoroughly enjoyable dinner. The informal setting is perfect for the wonderfully creative menu supported by attentive and friendly service.
Food was great and drinks were fun! Waiter was helpful and efficient.
Everyone from the hostess to our waiter was very nice. The location is nicely 50s and the food and cocktails are extraordinary. If you like fried chicken (my favorite) this is the place to go. The breading is seasoned perfectly, crunchy and crisp with tender and juicy chicken underneath. The topper is their homemade hot sauce that is perfect. Spicy but not uncomfortable and a fresh salsa taste. My companion had the scallops and she loved them and the little corn cakes (pancakes) that came with them. All the cocktails look great. I had the Hemingway daiquiri ( or a few of them). They were citrusy and made you think you could be drinking with Ernie himself. Another comment on the waitstaff. Our guy was David and he was friendly, pleasant and competent. Food was delivered in a timely way. He was attentive without being intrusive.
Tables are close together so be comfortable in getting to know your neighbors but it all comes together to be a great dining experience.
Real comfort food in a casual and "local" feeling atmosphere. We would recommend the cheese curds and, of course the fried chicken. We had our teenage son and his girlfriend with us and they loved it as well.
Fried chicken was amazing! Great happy hour. Excellent dinner
Went for cake and cocktails, everything was shareable and delicious
Best Fried chicken in the city!! And the biscuits were delicious! I also recommend the cheese curds. The Service is quick & the staff are super friendly!! Great energy & nice crowd at the bar!! Definitely going back!!
That food was fantastic. The menu is full of tasty and creative versions of Southern comfort food.
Great food and great service. I love this place
Great overall experience, services was outstanding and the food was very good.
Delicious! Great service as always. One of our favorite date night spots
Excellent weekend dinner! Brick chicken is delicious.
We enjoyed some creative bourbon cocktails and made dinner out of appetizers. The beet salad and the buttered buns were outstanding. Service was quick and efficient. The only down side was the noise level - pretty loud for a place for a nice dinner out.
It was too expensive and the seating was cramped. Overall the food was tasty.
Great drinks and amazing food. Especially love the Nashville hot buns and scallops.
The food was delicious, and the server was very accommodating in recommending vegan options. He was attentive and very helpful.
Another awesome visit to Bud and Marilyn’s.
It was the “Cat’s meow” before actually seeing the show!!! Absolutely “purrfect”!!
The food was fabulous - watermelon salad and broccoli slaw were awesome.
The food and staff was amazing. Very loud inside so hard if looking to have an intimate meal with conversation. The biscuits were to die for. Definitely check it out if you haven’t!
It was one of our first date spots and consistently provides an excellent meal, a wonderful overall experience and something we tell our friends about every time.
Went for our 10 year anniversary dinner trip. It was very loud in there for 730, but not from the restaurant. Some tables were loud which caused everyone else to be loud to be heard. While it bothered my husband a bit, since he had a hard time hearing me, I didn’t mind the atmosphere. We loved the food and were very pleased with everything.
We went for chicken & bubbles and really enjoyed it...definitely a fair value - lots of food! We also love happy hour here. The menu is somewhat limited, but everything is good and it’s a fun place.
Great place, great food, and great service, but so loud!
