Always good food here and service. Old school Italian.
For 25years this place has been consistently top quality experience with food, waiters and ambiance.
Waitress did not seem as knowledgeable about items as server at a table nearby. Pasta carbonara was disappointing. Restaurant was very noisy and tables very close together. Crowded
It was very quaint for an weekday lunch meal. Our server and the service was wonderful. The meal was also fairly priced. The only dislike was that it was cold in the restaurant, but this did not change our over rating. We would go here again.
Excellent food and sevice with a lively ambience. Huge menu with many pasta choices. The small dining rooms and bar were packed with customers so it was noisy but not unbearably loud. Reservations appear to be necessary due to the popularity of the place. It was worth the long drive from the western suburbs.
Celebrated my wife's birthday. We have been here a couple dozen times over the past 20 years. It's as consistent as any quality restaurant I've been into.
We were a large group and were not seated until everyone arrived(10 -15 min). But once everyone arrived we were rushed out of the bar to get to our table.
We also felt like we were being pushed out at the end of our meal.
We had a reservattion and were seated right away. Our food was very good with many options on their menu and daily specials. Not an inexpensive place to eat but a nice place for a dinner out with friends.
Amazing food! BEST in the northshore!
Always a Great meal! Whether it’s escargot or any of their fish entrees, always delicious!
The hostesses were off putting when we arrived. They wouldn’t seat us until the whole party arrived and then had us wait until they sat other people. When we make a reservation and up waiting in the hallway it is not a great dining experience.
Excellent meal and service as usual
The food is very ok. We ordered Bruschetta which was soggy & the toast was slightly burnt.
The eggplant was under cooked in the pasta dish.
We had a lovely meal at Café Lucci. I hadn't been there in ages and it was even better than I had remembered. The food was excellent - some of the best fried calamari I've ever had, and the veal gorgonzola was tangy and very flavorful. The special Pollo Fontinella was superb as well. Will definitely be coming back:)
The food was terrific especially the cream of mushroom soup! The waiters very, very busy since there was a very large party in the side room. The chef has always fixed me a veal con Fungi in a light cream sauce of some kind which is not on the menu. Our waiter got to us when he could. I was a bit surprised to be charged for the 63 rd anniversay piece of cake that was brought to us with a candle on it.
We had a party of 8 and we were a bit disappointed with our service. Our waiter was obviously in the weeds. We ordered champagne and he disappeared and the champagne never arrived. The food was great the atmosphere was nice - it was just the service that put a damper on our evening. We love Cafe Lucci wed definitely recommend it - we just were unlucky with our service this time around.
Food was very good with pretty attentive staff!
Quite good and staff does a great job. Great Italian food.
I listed this for a "notable wine list," which is certainly has, but a LOT of the bottles exceed $300 and a dozen or more exceeded $950. That's out of bounds.
If you watch your wine choice, though, you can certainly have a nice meal for two here for less than $200.
I will return, but because of the cost, only on special occasions.
We were impressed by the Beautiful look of the dining room. The servers were very professional yet friendly. They had several specials. I opted for the sea bass. It was delicious. We will definitely be back.
This is a favorite restaurant! The food is outstanding! Last week, we had a private area for our office holiday party (10 couples), and Eddy was our waiter. It was the most fabulous time, and he was superb. He timed everything out perfectly. Try this spot, and don’t forget to make a reservation!
We picked the perfect place for dinner after the opera. Always a wonderful meal and friendly service. One of our absolute favorites. Thx
Great food! Great service. But super loud in there. Very hard to have a conversation with other people at the table.
Have been to Cafe Lucci many times. My husband loved the Pollo Pepperoncino! Also, enjoyed the giardiniera and garlic spread they give you with the bread. The arugula salad was yummy. The only complaint was the eggplant parm. It was tough! I should have sent it back because I really didn't enjoy it which was a bummer. Eggplant should be melt in your mouth not chewy. Oh well...
We have been regulars at Cafe Lucci for twenty-plus years. Their food is ALWAYS consistently delicious, fresh, beautiful, and served hot. Cocktails and wine are mixed well and generously poured. And staff is friendly, energetic and always eager to please. It is not inexpensive to dine here, but it is always worth it and always thoroughly satisfying.
Service was fantastic. Food uneven. Caprese sslsd was great, linguine with clam sauce not.
We really like coming here. Always have a great meal. The only thing that is tough. Is the noise level. Really loud, hard to have Conversation while you are enjoying your meal.
We know if we pick Cafe Lucci it will always be amazing food in a fun environment with staff that love to take care of you.
It's a fabulous restaurant -- one of my absolute favorites because they make you feel special and individual. The wine, cocktails, and food are always top-notch. It's expensive but it's worth it. Lynn is fabulous at the bar. Bobby is always a grateful host.
A bit noisy but service and food excellent
Date night with my wife. Friendly service, nice food and show stopping wine list
We met a group from work for lunch. The food was delicious. I ordered the fettuccine Milano, it had just the right amount of spice. Our server Conrad was great.
Excellent food, our waiter was outstanding. He knew the menu by heart and was a professional server! All three of our entrees were superb - eggplant, salmon and veal. We’ll definitely be back!
Excellent experience. Had to wait about 15 minutes for our 7:30 reservation then was offered a bad table which I declined. Got a better table and the wait staff, food and drink were excellent
We waited 45 minutes for our reservation at 7:00. The food was good - eggplant Parmesan, chicken Vesuvio, veal dish and chicken Parmesan. My favorite was the garlic spread with the fresh bread. It was very load but overall we had a nice dinner.
I'm not sure what your survey means by "energetic" as it refers to the noise level, but I can honestly say that the noise was a detriment to our overall eating experience at this restaurant. The noise level was so loud, that it was virtually impossible to have a conversation with others at our table. We purposely did not order dessert, as we were anxious to leave this VERY noisy environment.
While the food was very good, the dining experience was terrible. There were too many tables packed into a space that could not comfortably accommodate so many people. My chair was hitting against the chair of another patron seated at the table behind me. It was so tight in the room, that our waiter could not easily walk down the side of our table to take our orders. Instead, he had to walk around other tables to reach our other dining guests to take their order.
I am sure that the capacity of the dining room exceeded the town's fire safety code.
Unfortunately, this will be our first and last time dining at Cafe Lucci.
Fantastic, delicious food. Our go to New Year's Eve spot.
Cafe Lucci is an exceptional restaurant. It has an extensive
Wine list and fantastic desserts
It’s always busy on New Year’s Eve, but we felt a little neglected as a single couple and a little younger. Us younger folk tip well too! Besides that food and wine selection were both very good!
Excellent restaurant with great food and service. 1 star because the actual owner cleared our table before our meal was over in order to turn the table over.
