Great Valentine's night! My wife and I enjoyed the whole experience. Food was delicious (lamb shank) and the mushroom with brie app was amazing. Service was fantastic.
With exceptional service and very friendly staff and owners, this is a must go to restaurant for those who enjoy great food and excellent wine selections. The food selections is great with many dishes being over the top in taste and presentation. I recommend this to everyone who enjoys fine dining.
Had a wonderful Valentine's night dinner. The food was interesting & excellent quality & fairly priced. The wine list was nice & well priced. We will return.
We were running late but we were graciously accommodated. Very well prepared and presented dishes all around.
We have been to Cafe Pyrenees a number of times over the years and this was one of our best meals. Great service (thank you Nathan), great drinks, great Caesar and French Onion soup, and great entrees. No room for dessert. We will be back soon.
Charming French restaurant.
Meat and fish both excellent.
Portion size very good.
Recommend you try.
Went with friends and we chose the early bird special that offers appetizer,
entree and dessert for $20 on Tuesday-Thursday from 4-6pm.
Choices were good...food was delicious, especially the salmon. the wait staff was attentive and pleasant.
We will definitely return!
Another fine evening with Mari and her staff. Delicious traditional French preparations done to perfection.
Cafe Pyrenees is a tried and true destination for dinner. We have been eating at this restaurant beginning with their Vernon Hills location and then moving to their Libertyville location. It is authentic and delicious French food served by staff who are very well informed. The wine selection is excellent!
Ambiance and food was wonderful. The service was initially good but once the restaurant got busy, the service became sparse. Would go again with that in mind.
We used to love this place. The menu has changed from being a french bistro type of restaurant to a more international fare. The food was good. I took over an hour to get our entrees. The $28 Beef Bourguignon is overpriced. With the beef you a dollop of mashed potatoes and three miniature carrots (the kind they sell in plastic bags in the grocery store). You can't peel and cut your own carrots? I don't think we will return.
Service was good but food was good but not exceptional.
Very impressed. Authentic French cuisine. Very polite and friendly waiter.
This was not a good visit for me and three guests. Service was just OK and we were frustrated by the waiter who mumbled and was difficult to understand. We started with a charcuterie plate and one of the cheeses had a hair on it. The waiter came back with obviously the same platter saying it was a "fiber". Ugh. House salads were great. My wife's Risotto was OK. My snapper special was overcooked. The free range chicken was overcooked and there was another "fiber" in it which we didn't report. A salmon dish was good. My wife enjoyed her Creme Brulee. I found the Banana Bread Pudding oddly plated, but the taste was good. It looked a lot more like a pound cake. We have dined here three times and this restaurant appears to be going downhill. We were greatly disappointed since we were entertaining out of town guests who were foodies.
WE SAW-IN 2018 AT CAFE PYRENEES AND IT WAS A HAPPY, WELCOMING EVENING G, WAIT SERVICE WAS RIGHT ON. GREAT MENU . THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT SEEM TO FEEL THE ANTICIPATION OF A "NEW" YEAR MARI, JEAN AND THE FAB DJ MIGUEL MADE OUR VISIT ONE WE HOPE TO DO AGAIN. WE DINE THERE OFTEN, AS WE ARE LOCALS, BUT IT IS WELL WORTH A DRIVE TO DISCOVER THIS HIDDEN GEM IN LIBERTYVILLE IL
