A very off night. Have been here many times and this time was disappointing. AC not working. Food sub-standard.

I have been to Caren's twice but have not yet tried the regular menu as I go whenever Greg Couillard is there as guest chef. Any meal prepared by Greg is sure to be a treat, and at Caren's, Greg goes back to his French roots. Both meals we had there were delightful in every way and we look forward to going back (maybe even when Greg is not the chef, as the regular menu looks delicious too!).

The service was poor from the start. My friends and I arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation. Upon entering and giving my name, the man "greeting" us (I use quotation marks, as it was hardly a greeting) looked at his watch in an annoyed manner as if we were inconveniencing him by arriving before the scheduled time. Not a friendly welcome at all. The service continued to be quite bad throughout the evening. The scowly man who greeted us was (yay!) also our waiter. What luck. My friend said she had a question about the duck confit, to which he responded "What about it - it's duck confit". We repeatedly had to ask to have our water refilled. My friends ordered a bottle of wine and their wine glasses were not refreshed regularly. Finally, my other friend ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio that had obviously gone off and tasted like vinegar. When she asked for a replacement glass, he had the nerve to tell her that that's what the wine is supposed to taste like. Her replacement glass was basically slammed down on the table without apology. Based on the terrible service alone, I would not recommend Carens and will not be back.

service and all very nice.Main course food not very good,ribs were very dry, mussels overcooked to oblivion. could not believe they could send mussels so overcooked!!

Had a really nice Father's Day brunch. We each had an alcoholic drink, thoroughly enjoyed, and a main. Everyone really enjoyed their dishes: Lobster Eggs Benny Grilled Cheese - come with a big appetite Croque Madame It is a bit on the pricier side, but everything was delicious and made from scratch, so you are definitely getting what you paid for!
