pair of 4oz jumbo lump cakes, pommery sauce
lump crab, minced vegetables, sherry crab velouté
Sautéed jumbo shrimp, crabmeat, aurora cream sauce
The meal was wonderful, scenery was very pretty and service was great! The dinner music was not to our taste but did not interfere with lovely time!
The salad bar section had too few items to choose from. Also, way too many onions.
Rest of food was good. When we were there, the buffet was low on turkey.
Our table was on 2nd floor not far from front desk. Very chilly.
We didn't our drinks for almost 15 minutes.
Good food and very helpful and pleasant staff. We had a very enjoyable meal.
Everything was good for the most part. Service was excellent, main course food was a bit blah, needed more flavor, but it was ok.
consistently fantastic. one of our favorite places to go; food is excellent, service is always top notch. 11/10, definitely recommend!!!!
My husband and I had brunch on an “early “ Sunday. Overall, the food was good however except for the dish I ordered which was the skillet breakfast. If you love fried potatoes then this is the dish for you - much too pricey for what it was presented as. My husband very much enjoyed the black and blue.burger. It was a beautiful fall morning so sitting at the window, overlooking the water was exceptionally nice. I will visit again but will order something else from the varied menu.
Good food, great view, good service! Definitely be back
The food service location all amazing. Great atmosphere!! Very friendly staff. Made our special occasion outstanding!
Fabulous time, server was superb, food was also delicious. Will be back soon
If you want a restaurant with fantastic views and a very attentive staff, the Chesapeake Inn Restaurant is the place to go. The crab bisque soup and the pork dumplings were outstanding. Regrettably, the crab cake sandwich and the sushi were disappointing.
When we return, we would stick with the appetizers.
Wonderful food. Efficient and friendly service. Beautiful view of the water.
We travelled from Dover, Delaware to the venue. The atmosphere was stellar, the food wasn’t as flavorful as I had expected for the price point.
This was the second time we ate at this restaurant. Again we had the Crab Bisque, which is delicious. I understand that prices have gone up but for the fine dining prices, we would not rate the entrees as super. The risotto was pasty and the vegetable medley was very overcooked for our liking, very very far from al dente. Our server was very attentive but looking around the room, we saw servers who never even smiled. Sorry to say but we do not find ourselves going back again. Since we live in Newark/Wilmington Delaware area, there are many fine restaurants that do not charge taxes for anything. We were shocked to see $11.46 tax on our $168 bill.
They also need to update their menu on their website.
We had a yearly birthday celebration between 3 high school friends (of over 50 years). It was a perfect location that enabled us to dine outside. Food was delicious, plated beautifully and the service from Conner was excellent!
We were especially grateful to be able to dine outside as we all continue to be Covid cautious.
Food and service were amazing! Our server, Elaine was so sweet and made my daughter’s 21st birthday extra special.
We went to dinner to celebrate my son’s birthday. The food was delicious and the service was great. Always a great time.
We arrived at our reserved time and were seated within two to three minutes. Our server Mandy was very efficient and attentive. The food was cooked to order and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be dining at the Chesapeake Inn Restaurant in the future.
We had reservations and arrived a little early. We were sat by a beautiful view. The waitress was amazing and very helpful. The good was delicious. It’s a great place for a nice relaxing dinner with family or friends.
Both food and service was great! Will be back!! Love the location and the ambience
Enjoyed our food went for our anniversary they gave us free champagne which was so nice. Overall 10/10 experience!
My husband and I went for his birthday dinner. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was fast, the food was excellent. Will return to try other menu items. They even surprised my husband with complimentary desert and sparkler to wish him a happy birthday.
I am a real critic of crab cakes, and these were the best that I've had on the east coast!
Only nuisance (I won't call it a problem) there was one fly in the restaurant that seemed to hang around but by the time our food came out there were many flies. I've been to the Chesapeake many of times and this was a first time experience I guess the flies are trying to find warm and food too but other than that the visit was spectacular as usual!
This place has been a Chesapeake City institution for so long that it seems to be riding on its reputation. The food was good, but nothing special, especially considering the price we paid for our meal. It was also just too loud for us in general, from the ambient noise making its way into the dining room to the din of the room itself.
We didn't dislike our experience, but were ambivalent about it. This was our first ever experience dining in Chesapeake City and we will definitely be trying other restaurants in town in the future. Can't say we are eager to return here.
I really liked the nice, new décor in the upstairs dining room. The dining experience was exceptional from the front desk reception, the service, the food. Even though it was a busy night for the restaurant, the service was prompt, friendly and our group didn’t have to wait for a thing. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Two complaints. Haddock was beautiful but over cooked. Three hosts were at the front and not one said thank you or goodbye .
Excellent food at a reasonable price with a great view.
The food was great. Our server, Pam, was on top of her game. We will be back!
Decided to sit outside upstairs to introduce our friends to the scenery. Pam and Tommy took great care of us as usual. The rockfish was perfect, my grouper special was delicious and perfectly seasoned. One of the best local spots for mixing food and ambience.
Outstanding food and service. Our waiter, Adam, was excellent!
Beautiful view & Connor provided excellent service. The hamachi & sushi were wonderful. My husband’s halibut was decent, but not “wow”. I had the petite filet/crab cake combo. The crab cake was delicious, but the filet was not good. While cooked perfectly (medium rare), it was tough & not seasoned at all. It tasted & cut more like a sirloin w/ a line of sinew down the middle, and did not have the tender qualities of a filet. For $45 I would expect a decent quality filet. To be fair to the restaurant, while I only ate half I did not say anything or give them the chance to make adjustments. I do know the table behind me had an issue w/ their order & the manager did come out to address it so I am sure if I had said anything they would have tried to fix it. My daughter enjoyed her Mac & cheese & said the Caesar salad was ok. We will definitely be back, but will try the less formal patio area next time.
Would have been great if we didn’t order sushi. Some of us ordered sushi as an appetizer an one ordered it as an entree. The two sushi appetizers came out after we finished dinner and the one that ordered it as an entree got it after 4 people were completely done our entrees.
Our first time at Chesapeake Inn & I was throughly impressed. Pam our server was very attentive & kind. The food was fresh & seasoned. Looking forward to another outing there.
We were at the restaurant celebrating my Mother in-laws birthday. There were six adults and 2 babies and we had a great experience. Connor was our waiter and he was excellent. The food is always fabulous and I would recommend it to everyone
Enjoyed our lunch at the Chesapeake Inn. We were seated overlooking the dock. We both ordered the BLT salmon sandwich! Cooked perfectly!! Fries were crispy! Our server and trainee were both very attentive. Our compliments to the Inn !!!!!!
Our serve, Julia (or Julie?), was phenomenal. Food was amazing and the view from our table was perfect. Will definitely be going back again!
Enjoyed the menu and the ambiance
