We are a small, independent restaurant situated in Macclesfield, near town center. Opened in 2009, Chestergate Bistro offers a modern British cuisine. High quality and fresh ingredients prepared each day by our chefs are the basis for each of Chestergate Bistro's creations. Friendly staff and stunning presentation keeps our customers returning. We take great pride in the quality of food we provide and have a reputation for delivering quality menu's at reasonable prices.
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
For larger gatherings, we kindly request a minimum of 24 hours' notice. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled time are subject to a £50 fee, which allows us to prepare properly for every party we host.
Missed Reservations
Should a party of six or more be unable to join us without prior notice, the £50 fee will regrettably apply. Life is unpredictable — please do call, and we will always do our best to accommodate you.

We ate at Chestergate Bistro last night and as usual found the food to be exceptional as always. To start with the complementary amuse bouche were very tasty . Spiced cauldron soup shots, apple slaw and a tiny bruschetta. We both had chicken liver pate with crusty warmed bread. Then shoulder of lamb which melted in the mouth. Excellent food and service !

Another excellent meal at the Chestergate Bistro. Fabulous food, full of flavour and beautifully presented. The staff easily dealt with my wheat intolerance, with very good knowledge of what food could be adapted etc. Highly recommend this Bistro.

Excellent food and service. Just enough people in to provide a pleasant ambiance. £33 three course menu very good value, especially given the excellent quality of the food. Drink prices on the high side but no more than any other eaterie. Definitely intend to return.

Really recommend this restaurant. We had a fab time, with the best steak we’ve ever had! I had fish which was also gorgeous and we thoroughly enjoyed our dessert. Staff were so kind and their involvement was just right - not too intrusive or absent. Will go again soon!

Always fantastic! Lovely food - always with an unusual twist, friendly no-rush service, great ambience and always busy enough to feel lively, and really good value - 3 delicious courses for 4 people, with surprise appetisers, a bottle of wine, 2 additional drinks for just over £200 with tip included. Can't fault it!
