Awesome spot....very popular so expect crowds....loved the outdoor seating but don’t sit in the hot Texas sun!!
Over all it was great!
We were staying at the JW Marriott for our daughter's graduation from UT...we had all our relatives staying there for the weekend as well. It was so convenient and stress free to have two onsite restaurants and a bar to enjoy during our stay. The Corner Restaurant provided wonderful service. Our waitress was aware we had a "Graduate" and she made every effort to make our experience enjoyable. The brisket nachos were a great appetizer! We also ordered one of every dessert (with many extra spoons) for all to sample. So fun!
Excellent food, but if you sit outside it can get loud.
Good food and nice venue in the bottom of the JW Marriott hotel. Only thing to know is that you should NOT park in the parking lot under the hotel. It's like $18 for up to 3 hrs and then 20 something for more than that which is ridiculous!
We were visiting Austin and made a reservation here as it was close to our hotel. My husband got the Beef brisket au jus, it had very little meat and a lot of bread. I ordered the fish tacos that were dry, cold and tasteless. I would not recommend this restaurant. The service was ok.
Hunter was great.
Need to include some “basics” on your brunch menu.
On our last day of the girls weekend at the JW Marriott, we wanted a special last great brunch. Somewhere I had heard that Corner was one of Austin’s best brunches so it was a no brainer to make the reservation. It took 15 for someone to approach our table. After that took another 15 mins to have the waiter come back to ask for our food decisions. Only then to have a manager come over 10 mins later tell us they won’t be serving brunch after all because of the expected crowd at the hotel. Seriously?! Very disappointed in lack of service and communication.
We enjoyed a nice date at the Corner. The food was very good and the drinks were tasty. When we made the reservation, we didn't realize the restaurant was connected to a hotel. It was too cold for us to sit outside. Otherwise, the outdoor seating would have been the most ideal. Our server was excellent. We would definitely dine here again.
The Corner is perfectly located on ground level of JWcMarriott. We were in town for our birthdays and were so happy to dine outside. The chip trio was our favorite with their skinny margaritas. Highly recommend
The food was amazing. Probably the best meal we had in Austin all week. The service was excellent. It’s a cool place with an outdoor bar. The only drawback if you’re eating inside is the tables are kind of dark. But our waitress brought us a candle and we were good to go. I would definetely go back.
Very nice lunch. Easy to chat with friends we had not seen in years. We were not rushed & the food was outstanding, as was the service.
Loved this place. Overall great experience when we went for Sunday lunch. The salmon was amazing!! Wonderful blend of flavors with a little kick. Have to get back for more soon. The wine list wasn’t too impressive but that’s my only criticism.
Great food and a courteous staff. Worth a visit. Staff is in no hurry, so we could relax and enjoy a special day.
The service was good but I did not like there food
Great food and the service was amazing! Went for a friends birthday and everyone came out to sing for her!
I celebrated my birthday and the ambiance was great. They gave me a complimentary pecan brownie and all i have to say it really made my night. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and knew the best things on the menu as well as suggested us to his favorite meals. Amazing service!
I wanted to like this place. The service was nice enough, but the food was just okay. We were both underwhelmed with our dishes.
Didn’t realize this was a hotel restaurant before making the reservation. Food was forgettable. Would not recommend.
Liked the food, not worth the price though. Good if you wanna have dinner at a quiet place.
I don't know what happened. Maybe I was expecting too much. First, this is a hotel restaurant and the noise level is that of a stadium event. If you are coming for bbq, a beer and a game then this is your spot. If you are coming for dinner this is not the place you are looking for. I will say that our server, Chase, was top shelf. This is the shining moment for this establishment. He was busy but on top of his game. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.
The wine list is virtually non-existent and what they do have is by the glass and way overpriced. If you are looking to pair a good vintage with your dinner, it's not going to happen. The menu is smart in that there is not too much to choose from. That being the case you would expect that what comes out will be stunning.
The burnt ends started off pretty good. Smokey and flavorful albeit a touch salty and dry. We found generous pieces lying on top but as we neared the bottom it was full of fat. Unfortunately that is where the flavorful juices from the pickled onions were.
I opted for the braised short ribs subbing in the brussels sprouts with pancetta for the seasonal vegetables. My dinner arrived almost ten minutes after the rest of the table. The seasonal vegetables were on the plate but no brussels sprouts. My server immediately corrected that. The brussels sprouts were outstanding! I would order that over and over. The seasonal vegetables were underwhelming and more of an afterthought on the plate.
The short ribs were not the best I have ever had. They were more of a smoked meat and not braised at all. Very dry, very smokey and sitting on top of watery mashed potatoes. I am not certain where the liquid came from but within a few minutes after arriving my dish was more like a mashed potato soup with dry short ribs perched on top. I could not eat 50% of the dish.
Sad to say, no return trips for our group.
Great Hotel restaurant
It was a great experience!
Great food and service. A little overpriced, maybe, but all hotel restaurants are.
Save room for dessert. The pecan praline brownie comes warm in a little cast iron kettle with some kind of glaze and whipped cream. I added a scoop of ice cream and it’s really good.
I often go to Corner Restaurant when in Austin. Great outdoor bar with numerous conversation pits. A great place for couples, meeting up with friends and large business groups. Great seasonal cocktails!
Absolutely enjoyed our Valentines Day night out at the Corner Restaurant. Food and ambience above par!
Great food and nice location
Overall the restaurant was good. Our main gripe was that our waitress was not very attentive to our table. She would walk past our table and not ask if we were doing okay and yet she would stop at the tables around ours and ask if everything was okay. We were not rude to her during our stay but she just took forever with everything.
Large open space that fills quickly. Food was good, not great. Service was below expectations. The zucchini cornbread is a must.
The food was amazing! Very happy overall.
We made reservations online. Everything went smoothly. The food is excellent, the service was excellent, the atmosphere is very comfortable..overall great experience.
We were celebrating a 16th birthday. Food and ambiance were great. Service was excellent, from our hostess to a waiter.
The food was delicious, service was a slow though.
Chipotle honey salmon was so delicious!
Great lunch - good location. Queso was excellent - also had the "brisket" french dip - very good.
would recommend if you're staying at the JW Marriott or if you're travelling through Austin
Best burger we've ever had! The starters were fabulous! Our server Joe was incredible. Only complaint is the loud music!
Unexpectedly Good food and good service for a restaurant in a hotel on a holiday weekend. Say “yes” to the cornbread and the chipotle salmon!
