About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Good for groups
  • Great for brunch
A Neighborhood Gem, Fit For Foodies with a Notable Wine List. Located in the heart of the ViBe District, Croc's has been locally owned for the past 30 years. Croc's is home to the Old Beach Farmers Market on Saturday mornings, and Sunday hosts the wildly popular decade-long show Drag Yourself To Brunch with nationally-recognized female impersonators. Reservations required. Thursday Night, also known as Ladies Night, is recognized as a 30 year hot spot, with $3 Corona Lights and a DJ at 10pm. In 2008, Croc's was the first restaurant in the state certified as Virginia Green. Our on-premise chef garden offers vegetarians locally sourced produce and herbs. Enjoy our coastal casual cuisine hospitality and atmosphere infused with authentic Lebanese dishes such as Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, and Tabouleh. We have 2 dog-friendly outdoor patios, and one enclosed patio that offers as a private room to host an array of events.

We chose this funky restaurant in the Vibe Creative District because there were supposed to be two free EV chargers for customers. The Tesla charger had been removed. The remaining charger did not work at all. Fortunately, charging was not critical; we had alternatives that we could drive to after dinner. Fortunately, too, the food at Croc's was delicious. My Rum Runner drink was fantastic. Unlike rum drinks I had elsewhere in Virginia Beach, I could taste the run in this drink. My Mediterranean Pasta meal (Spinach, grape tomatoes, artichoke, capers, bell peppers, onions, garlic, white wine, marinara, parmesan. My choice of pasta: cavatappi) was delicious. My wife was more than satisfied with her Pan Seared Shrimp and Scallops. We had no room for dessert because we had enjoyed the Baba Ghanouj as an appetizer. Dinner prices were quite reasonable. If we return to Virginia Beach, we'd eat here again, regardless if the EV chargers are working or not.

We had an ok time, but hadn’t been there for drag brunch in a while. The restaurant seems rundown compared to what it once looked like and could use a refresh. Service was not the best and the entertainers were just ok. Given the demographics of the patrons, we thought they would have performed songs that were more in line either the ages if the guests. Not rushing to go back. Things were much better when the owner was actually present and the performers were more relatable.

Bad experience overall. Went on a weeknight before a concert at The Dome trying to support local businesses instead of the chain restaurants at the venue. Croc's used to be a good restaurant that seems to survive now on their happy hour crowd and mediocre bar food. The menu seems pared down from what it used to be. Atmosphere: There was a private event party happening while we were there and we were seated in the section with the party group. This should have been disclosed when booking the reservation or we should have been seated elsewhere. It was a bit awkward. There was a lively crowd at the bar for happy hour. The restaurant needs a deep cleaning and some TLC. The paint on the booths was worn through, the table was mildly stick with a film on it, the wainscot rail was dusty and dirty, the menus covers were sticky. Overall the place looks old and run down. Food: The crab cake sandwich was served on an oversized bun too big for the cake with a tiny slice of tomato and a little piece of lettuce, minimally sauced. It was broiled heavy on one side and still too wet inside (undercooked). Quality and flavor of the crabcake was blah - probably mass produced from Sysco. My wife's falafel wrap was a similar experience. The falafel was dry and not enough dressing on the wrap. Portions were okay for the price, but the quality isn't there anymore. The wine was good and the fries were cooked properly. Service: This was the highlight. The waitress was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and brought the food and drinks quickly.

This establishment was a total disappointment. After making a reservation, we were left standing at the entrance for over 20 minutes with no one ahead of us. The service was lackluster, the floor was dirty with food remains, & the dining room smelled strongly of stale beer. If there was a lower rating than 1, I would have used it.
