Best Asian Restaurants in NoMa

This is my 3rd visit to Baan Mae. Honestly I think at this point it’s my favorite restaurant in DC. The flavors and textures are so bold and beautifully blended together. It never disappoints. Best pork belly I’ve ever had. All the appetizers are delicious especially the Sakoo.

Randy and Joe were a true delight!! Attentive, great smiles, and not only checked on how the food was but also how we were before and after the food was crushed ! It was extremely busy when we walked in! And when we walked out it was like a quiet calm ! They made it look maintained, balanced, and fun no matter where you sat (we were at the upstairs bar)!! If you’re looking for a hidden gem, Singing Tiger is it. We actually stumbled upon this spot after another nearby restaurant completely dropped the ball and was out of just about everything—and honestly, it turned out to be the best thing that could’ve happened. Tucked away with a speakeasy vibe, Singing Tiger feels like a well-kept secret. It wasn’t overly crowded, which made the experience even more enjoyable and intimate. The service? Top-tier. Our bartender, Christian, was phenomenal—attentive, personable, and clearly knows the menu inside and out. Her recommendations did not miss. Now let’s talk about the food: The salt and pepper shrimp was absolutely to die for—perfectly seasoned and crispy. The pork belly buns were rich, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth good. And the Korean fried chicken? Simply sublime—crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The drinks were just as impressive—well-crafted, balanced, and the perfect complement to the meal. Overall, this place is a solid 10/10. From the vibe to the service to the food and drinks, everything hit. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for great food and an elevated, low-key experience. 🔥

I got the pho ga and it was literally the best broth I've ever had. Noodles were perfectly cooked. I mean it was soooo good. Staff was warm, friendly and attentive. Will absolutely be returning before it gets too hot out - though as good as this pho is, I think I'd still be tempted to go in the dead heat of DC summer!
