Best Barbecue Restaurants in Stoke Newington

I have been to Blacklock a few times over the years, and it has always managed to maintain its high quality food and service. I don't think there is any other restaurant I would describe as 'perfect' - but Blacklock is absolutely perfect. The service is spot on, and every staff member is clearly passionate about making sure you have the best experience. The food is second to none. I could spend a whole day there just eating. The ambience is great and it is such a pleasant space to spend a few hours in. I would recommend Blacklock to anyone.

My brother and I are huge food lovers. I was visiting him in London and Barbeque was what we fancied. This place came up on my search...we thought, its in a bit of a random place, but we'll try it. How glad we're we that we did!! The food here is incredible! Hands down, the best BBQ we have ever had. We had a selection of meats from the menu because we couldn't decide on just two things! We went for Dino pork ribs, OX cheeks, PB&J burnt ends, brisket and ceasar salad and pickles on the side. The meat was succulent, melt in the mouth, so tasty and had the perfect mix of soft meat and crispy top.The pickles complimented the meats perfectly. Even the salad was outstanding. The food is very obviously made with love and passion. The wait staff working there were friendly, engaging and helpful and appeared to actually really like their jobs...unusual in the food industry!! We were given tasters of the made on site, brandy and coffee liquor. My brothers starry eyed face while eating his food had obviously caught the eye of the staff, as he was given a complimentary beef rib at the end of his meal to try! Everything was spot on. 5 stars for all. Worth travelling a little to get to? 100% do it! You won't regret it.

They don't accept open table bookings. Luckily when we arrived they were able to sort us a table to eat at. If you want to book a table you need to contact them directly. Can't fault the food at all.

Excellent food and service close to the Barbican Reasonably priced

The best thing about this visit was Bea's warm personality and server confidence. This person met us at the door with a genuine smile and a friendly tone of voice not a rehearsed fake scripted greeting. We were seated and taken care of ordering drinks and followed by order of mains on delivery of drinks. Food arrived which was very nice non dangerous temparature, however due to the general weather did not stay warm enough to enjoy it for long enough resulting from in it becoming cold. Not a human error but worth thinking about as a restaurant. The quality of the cooking was fantastic, well balanced flavours with a distinct American salt/sweet 'morishness'. Teamed very well with the stock side dishes. The portions were very generous at lunch even though one dish was shared, a doggy bag was still needed. (we are not big lunchtime eaters). The establishment takes both card and cash which I was impressed with. I am not a fan of places which has taken away the ability to pay using real money. I will go back and try another dish in the future.
