Always impeccable service & delicious food at Betty’s. One of my favourite places to eat, ever!!

Absolutely fantastic experience at Betty’s Breakfast Bar! We visited with international guests from Saudi Arabia, including members of the KSA Royal Family, and the restaurant truly made the occasion special. The food was outstanding, the service was impeccable and the hospitality was second to none. The staff deserve particular praise for their professionalism, lovely mannerisms, attentiveness and genuine warmth. Every interaction felt welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. One of the real highlights was the beautiful garden at the back of the restaurant. It added something truly special to the experience. We had a lovely walk around and it gave our international guests a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the beauty and charm of Yorkshire. It genuinely left them with the impression that Yorkshire is a very special place, and Betty’s played a big part in creating that feeling. It's not often you find somewhere that combines excellent food, beautiful surroundings and such exceptional hospitality. Betty’s Breakfast Bar should be incredibly proud of the team and the experience they offer. A real credit to Bettys. We couldn't recommend it highly enough and will certainly be returning! First class afternoon tea, service and environment. Worth every penny! An unforgettable experience as a birthday celebration.

Our 3rd visit over a couple of years. This lunchtime visit was 28 October 2026 and like the previous two occasions was outstanding. We ( two people) only had mains ( as our appetites are not big enough for three courses!). As on previous occasions we shared a full chicken ( with potatoes and a side salad). It all tasted fabulous. Finished with an Irish coffee which was also delicious. Had a glass of wine and a small beer with the meal. The bill was very very reasonable. The venue is small so it’s cosy but maybe a bit too small for some diners who like lots of space. The staff are knowledgeable and attentive. A lovely experience.

I’ve been to Cavo a few times now - never disappointed 😊 the service is good, the food is delicious. Good atmosphere. Not overly expensive. So you don’t need to sell a kidney to have brunch with a friend, as you do in some places in York! Highly recommend Cavo to anyone who wants delicious food, friendly service & lovely surroundings.
