Our meal was delicious and served in enough time to eat and the attend a theatre show nearby. Bamboo House remains an absolute top shelf Chinese Restaurant in Melbourne.More infoBamboo House - Melbourne$$$$• Chinese• Melbourne CBD•4.5
- NNatashaMelbourne •10 reviews5.0Dined on Oct 17, 2026We think this is the best Chinese in Melbourne. We travel from Ascot Vale to come here for most family celebrations with our kids. The dumplings are about as good as they get, duck spring rolls equally. This is clean and delicious Chinese food - it is high end for sure but the service, ambience, and overall quality of everything justifies the price. So good!More infoMahjong Restaurant$$$$• Chinese• St Kilda•4.8
- WWILLIAMTokyo Metropolitan Area •3 reviews4.0Dined on Oct 2, 2026Went to DOM in Southbank lats night for my partner's birthday. The 10-seat Cantonese omakase spot was quiet with only three pairs for the friday night. The food was genuinely good. Chef Dominic Li is doing something interesting, taking dai pai dong street food flavours and dressing them up in fine dining clothes. The coral trout was a highlight, and you can tell there's real skill in the kitchen. But here's the thing, it's around $250 a head, and the vibe is still very much "intimate counter." So you're paying white-tablecloth prices for what feels like a very refined home-cooked meal. Good, but not "$250 good," if that makes sense. The bigger letdown was the tea pairing for $40 a head. It's supposed to be this "Celestial Tea Journey" but honestly, the teas were pretty tasteless. They didn't enhance the food or stand on their own. Just... there. For that price, you'd expect the pairing to actually add something. Verdict: Food's worth trying if you're curious, but maybe skip the tea pairing. It's a lot of money for a concept that doesn't quite deliver on every front.More infoDom$$$$• Cantonese• Southbank•4.4
