We celebrated Mother’s Day at The Food Market in Columbia, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. What a gem this place is! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, exactly what you want for a special occasion. But the real highlight of our experience was our server, Ishmail. He was attentive, personable, and genuinely made us feel like we were the most important table in the room. He checked in at just the right moments without ever being intrusive, knew the menu inside and out, and even made thoughtful recommendations that we ended up loving. Ishmail is the kind of server who elevates a great meal into a truly memorable experience. He’s an absolute star! We also had the pleasure of chatting with Managers Eric and Asher, and it’s clear why this restaurant runs so smoothly, their warmth and professionalism set the tone for the entire team. They stopped by to make sure everything was to our liking, and that personal touch meant the world. You can tell they genuinely care about every guest’s experience, and it shows in the way their staff carries themselves. And the food..wow. Every single dish that came to our table was outstanding. The flavors were bold, the presentation was beautiful, and the portions were generous. Everything was cooked to perfection, and you could tell the kitchen takes real pride in what they put out. Logan at Smashing Grapes provided truly superior customer service from start to finish. He was attentive, professional, and made excellent recommendations throughout the evening. His suggestion of the Mediterranean Branzino was absolutely amazing — perfectly prepared, flavorful, and easily one of the best dishes I’ve had in a long time. Logan made the entire dining experience memorable, and I’ll definitely be back because of the outstanding service and food!
