    We saw Doug last weekend performing a cooking demo at the fields to fork festival, it was the first time we heard of the restaurant, we decided to make a weekend of it and stayed at a local campsite then went to the restaurant for Saturday lunch. we both had the 4 course set menu, and everything was exceptional, the food, the service, the wine and the location. I would say for the quality of the food we were served, it was the best value for money i have had in a long time, we will be returning in the near future.

    Everything about our experience at The Cottage in the Wood was outstanding- I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff were exceptional and the food was out of this world.

    The food was excellent and I can definitely recommend the lamb dish. Service was also excellent with our orders arriving quickly and served by very cheerful , efficient and friendly waitresses. It’s difficult to find any faults but if I was to be picky it would have been helpful to have some lighting from the overflow car park to the reception. We managed with the torches on our phones but it was very dark. Overall a great dining experience
