The food was really good, but what stood out most was the exceptional service from John. He was genuinely one of the best waiters I’ve come across. From start to finish, his attitude was fantastic, incredibly friendly, attentive, helpful and professional without ever being overbearing. Nothing felt like too much trouble for him, and the way he interacted with us made us feel genuinely welcome and looked after throughout the evening. Great food and an enjoyable experience overall, but John’s outstanding service really elevated the evening and deserves special recognition. He’s a real credit to the restaurant. Would definitely return!

The service is brilliant as always. Their Sunday breakfast menu will change every week so worth a few visits. The food was wonderful and even though tgey were delayed that morning as it was their first foray into the breakfast menu they were so very apologetic. They offered the missing item at the table when it arrived before we finished our meal. They also were very polite and kept tabs on who wanted dosas at regular intervals. All in all a fantastic experience - well done to the team as they pulled it off - will visit again in the next 3 months. Shame we live so very far so cannot go as often as we would like to.

I was genuinely surprised to find such a gem on Kenton Road. Ustav delivered one of the best food and service experiences I’ve had in a long time. Every starter — pathe ki chaat, tandoori hummus, pani puri and kurkure bhindi — was full of flavour, fresh, and prepared with real attention to detail. The mains were just as impressive: the veg handi was beautifully spiced, the lasooni palak paneer had the perfect garlic balance, and the veg biriyani was aromatic and cooked exactly right. The plain roti, butter naan and laccha paratha were soft, warm, and served at the perfect time.What stood out even more was the service. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. Since it was my birthday, they surprised me with a 20% discount, a 25% discount card for my next visit, and a complimentary dessert — such a kind gesture that made the evening feel special. The combination of amazing food, perfect portions, and exceptional hospitality puts Ustav well above most high‑street restaurants. A fantastic find and a place I’ll definitely return to.

Only the 2nd day of opening so a few things were unavailable. Three of us ate delicious small plates - fennel and leek bhajiya, okra fries, paneer tikka, for mains we had chicken tikka masala, allepy prawns curry and railway lamb curry, creamed spinach, rice, naan and tandoori roti. Everything very good apart from the rather bland creamed spinach. Good portion sizes, exceptional, pleasant service and a lovely space to eat in. Will be back.

It was my sisters 50th overnight stay and spa. We had lunch at the Glaze they have an Indian menu too as well as other food. Was amazing service start to end. Thank you even for a birthday dessert for sister. Il be going back again with my family. The setting is also beautiful.
