Cathy Ortega & Gerald Aquintey didn't know what to expect after finally opening up a Filipino small grocery & takeout joint together. The shop was doing great but they wanted to do more. They wanted to give Toronto a much more authentic Filipino taste and experience without the price of a flight to the Philippines. Kamayan / Boodle Fight (the formality of eating with your hands) was the obvious solution.

    My family and I came for dinner to celebrate Mother’s Day and my mum’s birthday. It was a fantastic time! The energy in there was lively! We enjoyed the music and the ambience! The service was awesome - very friendly! Made us feel warm and cozy! And the food was amazing! Incredibly delicious traditional Filipino cuisine. I miss the food back home and that hit the spot! Thanks, Makilala Team! We will be back again!

    We celebrated my fiancé's birthday last night at Electric Bill and the service was incredible. My fiancé is Australian so having a little piece of home was really special. Our server was absolutely fantastic (im bad at remembering names, but he was also from west Sydney). 10/10 recommend. The drinks were so good and the food too. We will be coming back for sure!

    Filipino meets fine dining! Expertly crafted meals with noticeable attention to detail. Tasting menu is worth the price, every dish we tried was delicious. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Looking forward to coming back!

    My partner and I enjoyed the food. The calamansi pie was sooo good. If you want to try Filipino for the first time, this is the place. I highly recommend it.
