    Not only was the atmosphere at the restaurant really cool, but the food and service were excellent. There were six of us and not one complaint! A must try for traditional Dutch food when in Amsterdam!

    We got an early reservation. The restaurant is small so recommend reservations. They do has tables outside. The food is traditional Dutch and was very good. Highly recommend when in Amsterdam.

    Cafe Americain has great Art Deci decor and it is worth a stop at some point during a trip to Amsterdam. I went for breakfast. The vast majority of the people in the restaurant were hotel guests doing the buffet. Boy did they miss out on the best egg Benedict in Amsterdam. The hollandaise sauce they make at Cafe Americain really sets that dish apart from any I have had in Amsterdam. So, if you are searching for a really fluffy and flavorful hollandaise sauce in a restaurant with unique decor, you need to stop in.
