Food and service was out of this world. The pumpkin gnocchi, in a French/ Japanese restaurant, was the best I have ever eaten. The Bansho oysters were fantastic. Together with the scallops. Drink prices reasonable, but not a cheap night out.

Popular for good reason, this French inspired cafe in Elsternwick does tend to fill up so booking ahead is highly recommended.

Great dinner as ever Steak perfectly cooked others raved over the lamb shoulder all under auspices of 40 dollar main meal and glass of wine deal. Served attentive but relaxed . A neighbourhood gem I constantly return to.

We had an excellent experience at Bon Matin - a small bistro hidden away under an apartment block by the Yarra River. We ordered the chicken liver pâté and Blue Cheese Gougère for entree, both exceptional and the Duck á la orange for main - delicious! Perfectly sized dishes for French cuisine. Service was friendly and unobtrusive. We will definitely return. This bistro should be much busier than it is. A real hidden gem.
