Fresh Salt is a bar and restaurant with an interesting history. The restaurant is located in a historic building previously inhabited by a smokehouse back in 1885. Fresh Salt gets its name from the faded sign that was still barely visible when the restaurant moved in that read "Fresh, Salt, and Smoked Fish". Fast forward to 2004 and Fresh Salt it serving diners delicious food in a neighborhood bar atmosphere. As Fresh Salt is proudly a bar, many of its dishes are designed to be eaten with a drink in hand. Most of the menu is made up of the sandwich selection, which includes the hot breaded eggplant with mozzarella, tomato and pesto as well as the SALT made with speck, avocado, lettuce and tomato and topped with chipotle mayo. All of Fresh Salt's sandwiches are served on either fresh ciabatta or whole grain pan bread.
