Best Home Cooking Restaurants in Schnelsen

Das Dorf feels like old-school hospitality done properly. Warm atmosphere, great staff, no pretentious nonsense just seriously good food and a place with soul. The Wiener Schnitzel was excellent. Crispy, not dry, balanced, and honestly one of the better ones I’ve had in Germany. You taste immediately when a kitchen gives a damn. Had a beer from the tap with it, which completed the whole experience perfectly. The staff was very friendly and spoke excellent English as well, which made everything easy and relaxed for international visitors and touring people like me. After long tour days, places like this hit differently. Good food, relaxed vibe, proper hospitality. Would absolutely come back next time in Hamburg.

Very close to the Hamburg Marriott Hotel but not on site (Google Maps will show you the wrong info), ina secret courtyard, this German French restaurant is stylishly decorated with comfortable banquet seats and chairs. Service is excellent. The food amazing. Please try the authentic wiener schnitzel. The original version. Small portion is big enough for most people. The accompanying potato salad is divine, as is the sauce (I think it is cranberry). The steak frites is superb, and comes with a pepper sauce. Generous portion. We ordered a wonderful Chablis for €60. The only criticism is, because it is a rainy night, the place was virtually empty. It is not their fault, but it affects the ambience score.
