Tiella Trattoria & Bar is chef Dara Klein's debut restaurant, housed in a 170 year old former Victorian pub on London's iconic Columbia Road. Tiella is an homage to Dara's parents trattoria that she was raised in, Maria Pia's. Drawing on her Pugliese heritage and her upbringing in Emilia-Romagna, Dara's cooking focuses on regional specialities that change with the seasons. You can expect hand rolled pasta, unctuous braises and the best of both Italian and English produce. There is a 30 cover dining room which you can book, a 15 cover bar which is walk in only and a spacious outdoor terrace. Tiella started as a kitchen residency at The Compton Arms pub, which ran for two years, building a loyal following and acclaim, including a listing in The Good Food Guide and the National Gastropub Awards. Tiella's new permanent site has a buzzy atmosphere with an open plan kitchen, plenty of natural light and beautiful wood panelling throughout.

Whatever the style is I don't really know but they're delicious pizzas. 14 inches of dough and topping, celebrated classics and the Etna Curry Pizza, a brainstorm of Joe's to celebrate the wonderful heritage of curry we're gifted with in London and the UK. A few snacks, this offering will grow over time. What won't change is the simple dessert, soft serve, two flavours, sometimes swirled, sometimes not. Lubricate with £5 negronis and then post-pizza slide back into the bar and explore the knowledge of the bartenders. Open late on weekends.

    What a fantastic meal. Everything was sensational, from the food to the service to the wine. We brought our 8 month old son for lunch, the team were so warm and accommodating and we all had the most wonderful time. The heart and soul of a proper trattoria right in East London. Tiella is a joyful place.

    Have been waiting for this place to open and it did not disappoint! The service was incredible - our server in particular was so charismatic and really personable, the food was bloody delicious… rare to go to a pizza place and for them to have considered starters and the focaccia and beans were both amazing, as was our pizza! So flavoursome, perfectly balanced and seasoned. Great vibe in there too, will defo be back.
