Best Italian Restaurants in Middletown, New York State

Food was great and cocktails were well made. The hospitality is top tier and before I left a couple of the the great bar patrons paid for my end of the night shot that I ordered. Greatly appreciated that too. Also met chef and owner Edison Narkaj and he's an absolute gem. Will definitely be going back. Ragu with filet mignon was good...ill try it with burrata next time....also had the filet mignon empanadas and those were 🔥, my kids had the spicy rigatoni and they loved it....overall great experience

88 is consistently superb. Food is top tier, portions are huge. Wait staff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Can get a bit loud, is the only thing I could say that isn’t great. Other than that, 88 has become my first choice for a fine meal.

The food and service was beyond outstanding. All pastas are made in house. You start with a small loaf of oven-warm toasted bread with a thick tomato dipping sauce. The salad was delicious (and I do not often rave about salads). The steak au poivre was a perfectly grilled 16 ounce tender and tasty NY strip. The sides were crispy potato wedges (NOT fries) and a satisfying vegetable medley of carrot, broccoli, and cauliflower. My wife enjoyed a mushroom pasta entree. The steak had a peppercorn glaze which blended well with natural juices brought out by the grill. This establishment deserves a recommendation of the highest order. Before we left, we chatted with Zach, one of the owners. When he learned that the visit was to celebrate my wife's birthday, he insisted on sending her home with a delicious slice of cheesecake on the house. Enjoy -- you will not be disappointed!
