Best Japanese Restaurants in Playa Vista

Love this place! Great food, great vibe. Great drinks.

Wabi on Rose is a standout Venice spot that perfectly balances a chic, garden-party vibe with an energetic nightlife scene. The outdoor seating is a serene escape, while the modern interior and upbeat music make for a great atmosphere. The food is exceptional, especially the Tiger King Roll with its fresh Bluefin tuna and the Baked Crab Roll. For hot plates, the Magic Miso Cod and Spicy Wagyu Dumplings are incredibly savory and well-executed. The cocktail program is equally impressive—the Lychee on Rose is a refreshing favorite, but the Japanese Old Fashioned, with its unique blend of Japanese spirits, is a must for a sophisticated signature spin on a classic.

Our table of four had no trouble hearing each other during our meal. Waiter, Lawrence, was part of the experience and kept us in good spirits. I went with Beef Mala udon and it was as good as I had been told. The spicy pork Seoul plate was excellent and full of flavor. I had a taste of both the Aji and Chicken Katsu and they were both excellent (I’ll get the Aji Katsu next visit). Great food, great value, good drink options (beer, wine, sake, sochu cocktails). Definitely added to our local favorites! If I was being critical: A little bright inside, if there was anything I’d change.. some soft/smooth music (along the lines of Thievery Corporation maybe?) and dim the lights a bit.

The best Yakitori of the LA area, the dinning experience were outstanding as well. From the select tableware to food selections down to the service area very very top of the line. It nothing different then having Yakitori in here Culver City. The team really brings Tokyo to LA. This is my new favorite spot. Definitely will come back.
