Best Japanese Restaurants in Selden

Really nice addition to the restaurant scene in Oyster Bay. The food and service were outstanding. Creative menu with more than the ordinary fare. Went with friends. Great experience. The seafood hot and sour soup was great, the spicy tuna crispy rice was a standout (not sweet, yay), and all the sushi and sashimi were melt in your mouth fresh and delicious. Even the gyoza were a cut above. Highly recommend. Wie will be regulars at Hoshi.

Favorite restaurant. We love everything about dining here. Food is fresh and delicious. Service is friendly and efficient. Although sometimes it takes a little long to receive drinks.

Who knew you could have absolutely amazing omakase in a Long Island strip mall? From the moment you walk in to the dark cocktail lounge until you leave 2 hours later, this experience is all about indulgence in the best possible way. While the cocktail menu is limited each offering was unique and the one I tried with tequila, yuzu and pineapple was delicious. When it is time to be seated, you are escorted through a secret door to the 12-14 seat counter. We were seated right in front of the sushi chef in charge of slicing the fish and forming the nigiri. Dinner AND a show! Each dish was exquisitely prepared. The lobster, scallop and squid starter and the amber jack with some sort of garlic sauce were standouts among an overall excellent menu. I don’t normally go for the beverage pairing but this one was spot on - one glass of rose champagne, one of red wine (with Wagyu beef and fois gras courses) and 4 different sakes. The service was exceptional throughout. This place does it right from start to finish!

We were there Friday, 10/16/26, 7:00pm, sat at a table in the bar area, and had a very lovely waitress, (unfortunately, don't remember her name). We've been here many times, and will continue to go back for the great food and delightful ambiance.

Went here on a Saturday night and had an amazing time, food and drinks both were really good.
