She was enthusiastic when I mentioned it and we booked our table mainly on the menu presented. The experience overall was excellent. Our only difficulty was in how the menu list worked out. We had been to Spain so were not foreign to tapas but we were a bit how much we should order and of what. But we decided on the warmed olives with cheese, another selection of three cheeses and a bit of the Iberian ham as appetizers. My wife always loves pulpo so she ordered that while I had the empanadas. Each of these dishes is shareable though the pulpo may be large enough to serve as a main meal if desired. We ended with an almond-based cake with mint tea and espresso. The service was attentive and helpful. We were greeted promptly and with a reservation we were seated immediately. The space is open with the main window facing 5th street. The opposite side looks in on the active kitchen. This provides the dining area with a light and open ambiance. Being on the west side of 5th street is I suppose the reason I had not hear of this restaurant before. There are many 2-pesrson tables available and a few for larger parties. We arrived early and many tables were still empty. But was we ate it filled up quickly. The noise level is moderate and while we sat somewhat close to other tables there was no issue with volume or other conversations. Mita's provides a nice Spanish style dining experience easy to each in downtown. We parked at the Fountain Square garage and had only to walk a block from the square to the restaurant. Being so close to the Square allows for activities after eating but being a block in between keeps the noise from any activities there away from your experience. We had chosen this as a date-night outing and it is perfect for that and saw many couples. But we also saw a few families and it would work awesome as a group dining experience. As long as you're willing to share.More infoMita's Restaurant$$$$• Tapas / Small Plates• Cincinnati•4.9
