Best Southern American Restaurants in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

We visited for Mother’s Day brunch, and although the restaurant was completely full, the service from our server, Silvie, was still excellent. The she-crab soup was outstanding, and the shrimp and grits were the best I’ve ever had. We will definitely return.

Went here for the Mother’s Day buffet. It was outstanding! Everything was fresh and hot and the buffet was replenished continuously! The pastries were made in house and were delicious. Thank you for making our Mother’s Day special!

We have lived in Charleston for 30 years and enjoyed so many wonderful restaurants. It had been a while since we had been back to Anson, and we were looking forward to it. When making my reservation, I looked over recent reviews and saw the name Darnell several times, indicating that he provided excellent service. Our experience was the same. Darnell was warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. He was friendly and made us feel like family. He was knowledgeable about the menu and provided us with excellent recommendations. The food was fantastic -- all five of us agreed after trying many items from the menu. My filet mignon was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I had the specialty salad - arugula, strawberries, pecans, blue cheese crumbles with white balsamic. So, so good! And the corn side dish was slightly spicy and delicious. We sat in a circular booth on the first floor... in the past, we had always sat upstairs. It was a fun atmosphere on a beautiful Charleston evening. I highly recommend Anson and Darnell!

We had Sunday Brunch here and it was really good. We had a party of 9 and I had a reservation so no issue with getting seated. Our waiter was very nice and friendly and all the food was really good. We will definitely go back
