The staff was wonderful! They welcomed us and were very attentive. We had a brand new waitress that kept a positive attitude and a smile on her face. The food was delicious. We tried a chicken crepe and a poke bowl. The presentation was beautiful with good sized portions. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine and the gentleman that served it to us was good natured and well informed about the wine. The owner was absolutely the best! She greeted us personally and checked in to make sure we were satisfied and having a great experience there. She even shared directions to a special spot on the island that isn’t widely known to the general public. You’ll have to try Japonica and maybe she will let you in on the secret too!

Having recently returned from Japan, we were eager to relive some of the wonderful culinary experiences we had there, so we made reservations for a kaiseki dinner at Migaku. It was our first time dining here, and we were delighted by how exceptional the experience turned out to be. A few dishes really stood out throughout the meal. The fisherman’s stew was memorable, and the chawan mushi was a lovely example of the care and finesse that make Japanese cuisine so special. We also particularly enjoyed the well-marinated sardines, which were full of flavor. The sukiyaki with Wagyu beef was a true highlight. It was rich, luxurious, and such a treat to experience. What made the evening especially enjoyable was the opportunity to revisit the flavors of Japan and appreciate the thoughtfulness behind a kaiseki meal. Migaku made a wonderful first impression, and we left feeling that we had discovered a special place for Japanese cuisine in Seattle. We would happily return for another memorable meal. Gochisousama deshita!

We had the garlic shrimp, Mongolian beef and honey walnut shrimp. All three dishes were really good. Portions are not large and prices are a bit in the high side. Worth going back to.
