Best Tapas Restaurants in South Mountain

I was told about this place from a friend who had not yet been there but we put it on our list. We went on a Thursday evening, I heard it was small so I made a reservation, but we really didn't need one, as it was 6:30 and still rather empty. It's a very cute restaurant with a nice patio but I reserved a table inside as it is on a busy street and rush hour was ending. I was early and I was able choose the table. Our server was amazing as I asked a few questions before my friend arrived, and he gave me a taste of a bubbly I had never tried before I ordered a full glass, which I did as it was very nice. When my friend arrived he came right over and walked us through the menu, answered any other questions and let us catch up and decide. We ordered the shrimp - which is 2 skewers, 3 shrimp each served with a side of cocktail sauce and aioli. Cooked perfectly and the sauce wasn't even necessary although it was tasty as well. Our second plate was the bacon wrapped dates, same type of presentation, 2 skewers/3 dates each. The combination of flavors was spot on, the creamy cheese, and the bit of salt from the chorizo and bacon were perfect compliment to balance the sweetness of the dates. The last plate we ordered was jamon iberico - which was delicious, the perfect small touch of olive oil drizzled on them and since I am gluten free I did not taste the bread that accompanied. They do offer a lot of gluten free and vegetarian options and they are very accommodating. We ordered a few cocktails, my favorite was the La Madrina with half the agave since I am not a fan of sweet drinks. I was so into the food and drinks I forgot to take pics, which means I will be back to try more!

Always an incredible experience at Pretty Penny. The best steak tartare I’ve ever had! Service is always top notch too. Can’t wait to come back.

I love the lobby bar. Hip, sexy, alive and the food to match. I love the music making for a perfect ups ale lounge feel. The caviar and seafood haven’t disappointed me yet and somehow they make some of the best French fries Ive ever had!

We always love coming to Telefèric Barcelona, and now we look forward to trying their monthly specials! The calamari were delicious, and the cheesecake… to die for! Please, chef, add it to the permanent menu! The service was impeccable, and managers Maria and Carlos took such wonderful care of us. Thank you for another amazing experience!
