We are the antidote to finish out your busy day and the best date night spot in New Orleans. The one and only true dessert lounge in New Orleans offering freshly made small batch Gelato, Affogato and indulgent signature cocktails. Oh yeah, we also specialize in boozy desserts such as liquor infused cupcakes and spiked cotton candy! Conveniently within a short walk from the French Quarter, Bourbon Street and the Caesar's Casino right in the heart of the city.

The staff brought out a special congratulatory cotton candy treat for our 5th grade graduate, which was very sweet. There were also plenty of other families there, so def kid-friendly in that regard. The decor was very cool and the desserts were absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed our charcuterie very much. The music is a little loud for conversation, but it is a downtown “bar” so that’s understandable. It also was not the edited version of 90s and 00s hip-hop, so keep that in mind re: your expectations of being “kid friendly.” A few menu items we wanted to try were not available, but we won’t mind returning to try them later.

About the restaurant
Atchafalaya is a true New Orleans neighborhood eatery where the eclectic yet elegant atmosphere is only outshone by the attentive service and delicious local fare. Nestled under the oaks on the edges of the Irish Channel, Magazine Street, and historic Garden districts, this hidden gem is one the best contemporary Creole dining experiences that one can find in the city. Neighbors, locals, and out of towners alike will become regulars after experiencing the brand of hospitality offered by New Orleans’ only five “A” restaurant. If having standards such as a gumbo du jour, blue crab raviolo, or shrimp & grits, a nightly seafood special, or a filet paired with a selection from the world class wine program you will not be disappointed. The introductions of brunch, live music, cocktails, and now an extensive happy hour continue the newest culinary chapter for a storied local haunt, embracing New Orleans’ culinary culture while placing contemporary spin on traditional New Orleans cuisine.

Bistro Daisy has been a “go to” place of ours for years. It’s close, and the food is always very good. Diane always makes us feel welcome. The menu changes regularly but everything is really good. Last night we had the veal shank , and the salmon mousse…both were excellent. Desserts are always made in house.

Steakhouse
Gretna
About the restaurant
The Red Maple was originally owned and operated by the Trauth Family, a German-American family of restaurateurs spanning 100 years in Gretna. And what began in 1963 continues to this day, holding to its German roots through its rustic Alpine lodge decor, extensive beer selection and annual Oktoberfest celebration. In fact, it was a red maple tree in the side yard that inspired the name of the bar – The Red Maple – with the restaurant being added in 1965.

Now for over 50 years, The Red Maple has been the rendezvous spot for West Bank movers and shakers known for its Prime cut steaks, New Orleans favorites and fresh Louisiana seafood.

Today, under the passionate guidance of Proprietor Brent Trauth and his sister, Carroll Gales, The Red Maple continues to deliver on its reputation for delicious food, exceptional service and rich Louisiana history. A rich and storied past that is only upstaged by the dining experience itself.

One of my favorite local restaurants. Especially love their Veal Oscar and classic Red Maple Bread Pudding. Took Dad for a late Father's Day dinner and he (& Mom) loved the Redfish Pontchartrain with the jumbo lump crabmeat. Happened to be Steak Night so I had the 8oz Filet - perfectly cooked/well-seasoned and came with a salad and mashed potatoes at a great price. Had a great old fashioned from their cozy bar. Service is always top notch. It's a perfect place to spend time with good food and good friends!

The wood-fire oven is central to both the menu and the dining experience, from the incredible homemade, wood-fired pita to vegetable-centric small plates and heartier entrees. Many of the dishes on the diverse menu are meant to be shared and enjoyed throughout many courses.
