Lunch at Dragonfly is always perfect! Juan is consistently a great server and the food is always creatively presented, the right temperature and taste great!
The drinks were quite nice, though just on that line between worth it and pricey. A Bloody Mary shouldn’t cost $15, even if it is tasty and well-made. The food was also good, but not anything I couldn’t have made at home with equal or better results. That said, the atmosphere was good. It had the right amount of people and “buzz”. It wasn’t too busy/loud, but it didn’t feel empty. The service was also quite good. We were served promptly and by waitstaff that was friendly and helpful but unobtrusive.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Can't wait to go back!
Fantastic place. Me and my date had a great time with great food.
Great food and drinks! Perfect pre opera spot for fine dining!
Hotel and restaurant are lovely- a very nice setting in the main restaurant room. Food was consistently yummy and fresh across all of our dishes/courses. All the veggies were divine, great crab cake, fish and poultry cooked perfectly. Service was well-timed throughly the evening so we didn’t feel rushed. Will definitely recommend and be back for dinner.
One service note- please train your hostesses (and wait staff) to NOT say “No Problem” when you check in with a reservation or ask for thing. I know it’s no problem for you...I made a reservation!
My only complaint is the rez was not eligible for Open Table points. I do t understand why !
Great ambiance, service and food. Always love this place
It was a wonderful experience. Thank you so much Kevin for being a wonderful server! And thank you for the other staff members who cleaned up my spilt water. :)
Amazing dinner - incredible service - most delightful staff. Excellent wine and a very beautiful evening. Will be back!
It started off poorly, as we had DINNER reservations, but got seated at the bar. We asked to be moved to a table, which was no problem and the service excelled from that point on. The food was excellent and the wine availability was really very good. I would suggest asking for the dining room, as the bar area is a little noisy.
Valentine’s Day. The meal was very good and service was very good. Their sommelier brought us out a very special wine to try with our meal. Will definitely come and try out this place again. They had a very cool looking space outside but it was too cold to use it that night.
Wonderful evening out for a date night. It was quiet except for an event outside that was very rambunctious. Our dining experience was well-timed. My only complaint is that we over ordered and our server didn’t check with us before we ordered so much. However, we left happy and full with some leftovers. My one suggestion would be more variety for cocktails, but the one I had was enjoyable.
real treat.... as good as portrayed. Will definitely be back and soon.
Our first time having dinner at the Dragonfly. We were not disappointed. The food and service were excellent. Not too stuffy!
Great service, a bit noisy but not overly. Appetizers were excellent and the entrees were fresh and had a nice flavor/taste combo.
Cocktails = amazing!
Entrees were so blandly average. I got the red fish, fiancé got the crusted chicken, and friend got the gnocchi. All lacked flavor, disappointingly. We had to ask for salt and pepper and that was just enough to give it slight flavor. Cool ambiance. Probably won’t go back unless someone asks me to and it’s only for cocktails!
The staff was more than exceptional! I had dined here before in their wine cellar room. Makes things feel a little more special. We were in town for a friends girls/ business trip, as a few of my friends were starting their own boutique, so I wanted to celebrate in style. Loved the food, the atmosphere, the staff, and everything else that came with it. It was a wonderful experience. You can’t go wrong with the Dragonfly and the hotel itself is beautiful!
Thank you again!
Food was delicious and hotel was beautiful! Service was outstanding.
Service was great, and such a cool spot! Food was okay, hoping it was just an off-night. Would definitely try again.
We made a reservation a couple of weeks in advance. When we arrived, our table was ready. The Chicken Piccata was excellent. I would definitely order it again. The full bar was nice and the drinks were good. The wine, Prosecco, and champagne were very expensive; the markup must have been about 6 times what you’d pay at the store. The atmosphere was nice though, our service was perfect, and we look forward to dining there again.
I went to Dragonfly for my birthday. We sat in the wine room which is cozy and private. The food and service were perfect! Highly recommend the spinach artichoke dip, lamb popsicles and the blue cheese twice baked potato! Everything was so good!
Appetizers were phenomenal and well portioned. Just wish the main entrees were more flavorfu.
Food and service was great, I always loved the unique Art Deco decoration of Zaza too. Just make sure they will give you on of the tables on the dinning room and not on the dragonfly bar area, unless you don’t mind high noise. I really recommend the lamb for appetizer, both steaks and fish dishes were great.
I dined at Dragonfly on NYE and needless to say it was busy! There were 4 of us reserved for dinner at 845 but we weren’t served our food until 1030 roughly that evening which was excessive in my opinion. Once the food arrived it was pretty tasty but our waiter didn’t seem to care about how long it took nor did he take the time to ensure that we were attended to during our wait. Not sure of the wait time is normal but if you’re in no rush to eat dinner then it’s a good option for you.
Unfortunately, this was a very poor choice for an evening out, especially on New Year's Eve. We ordered a caesar salad, shrimp cocktail, and crabcake to start. The caesar was not fresh and the lettuce showing signs of turning. The shrimp cocktail was not presented well at all, and simply lay limp on a plate. This was certainly not a "cocktail." Further, the shrimp did not taste fresh and was likely previously frozen. To their credit, the crabcake was good and up to par. However, the other pre-courses were not, especially given the prices for this restaurant and the upscale placement of the restaurant.
However bad the appetizers were, they paled in comparison to the main courses. We ordered the red snapper on a bed of risotto, and the dry aged ribeye on fingerling potatoes. The snapper was, to put it frankly, tasteless, and the risotto was more akin to gruel. The steak was far from tender, and likewise tasteless. I didn't even bother trying the potatoes as we were already very disappointed by this time.
To the restaurant's credit, they tried to make things right when we raised our concerns. However, this included an admission that the food simply wasn't good, and that the staff that helped me stated that he wouldn't eat that himself. As a substitute, they brought out scallops and a different ribeye steak. However, the scallops were now overly salty, and the new steak still tough and tasteless. We gave up and asked for the check simply so we could leave and go somewhere else to get a meal. We didn't want that to be the last meal we had for 2018.
PS: The staff did try to make things right with substitutions and did take off a notable amount off the final check. However, the food quality at a supposed upscale restaurant was utterly poor, and unfortunately I cannot return to this restaurant in good faith.
I have eaten at Dragonfly twice...brunch on Christmas Day and dinner on New Year’s Eve. Both were exceptional experiences with great food and service. I will definitely be back!
Had our annual Christmas dinner there with my family the wait staff was excellent especially Tiffany, The food was excellent I hope to try something new the next time I go there.
I researched restaurants before I came in from Chicago. From the looks of this place, it’s what I was looking for. The atmosphere was beautiful and unique. When I called I was told our accommodations would be absolutely no problem. The service wasn’t my favorite. The host was lovely and sat us right away even though we were early, which came as a pleasant surprise. My server, was less than friendly. He was clearly annoyed and it seemed like he’d gotten “stuck” with us. When we sat down I noticed other tables had bread baskets, while we were not offered one. It may have just been a popular menu item, but was not listed. We did not need bread, so it’s really not a big deal, but didn’t make us feel welcomed when we observed it. He gave no recommendations and didn’t seem to know the menu well, maybe just chose to not go over it. One of the floor managers, Aaron, came over and assisted and was lovely. It was just as simple as being kind. We had a variety of food at the table including the fried chicken and red snapper. We would not recommend those choices. The potatoes were a bit undercooked, while the snapper seemed to be over cooked. The chicken was dry, and that happens from time to time. It wasn’t necessarily bad, but it wouldn’t be chosen again. The burger was a hit! I would not recommend the Provenance Merlot. Merlot is typically lower in acidity, and it didn’t quite balance out. The rest of the staff at the hotel (Zaza) were fantastic. The valet is quick and efficient, and the front desk staff are hospitable, helpful, and always seemed to be smiling. The food runners and bussers were attentive and fast. It was a busy night, that is always is a factor. With a different server I’m sure it wold be a different experience. There is a lot of potential in this establishment and seems to have a great team, I would try again.
Food was excellent. Desserts were great. Service was friendly. Crowd was eclectic. Ambiance was clever and conversation inspiring. Overall, this visit will NOT be my last!@
The food was very good but sizes are small, not a real value, the service is poor and somewhat sarcasticy, the waiter left us alone for a long time and we eventually had to pay the bill at the bar, that's when I finally paid the bill, also parking is not very good unless you want to pay valet. Had not any choices that day took a chance, won't be going back, I just find the Ambiance lacking good service.
Food is delicious. Service was late (but its Christmas) and I’m sure they are short on staff.
Lovely & enjoyable meal. Would definitely come back. Was pleasantly surprised at how cozy the atmosphere was.
It was our first time to dine at Dragonfly, and it will be our last. We arrived so excited...and left so very disappointed. The special salmon croquette appetizer was quite tasty; however, the rest of the meal was basically awful. The red snapper was tasteless--no seasoning whatsoever and the risotto was runny and soupy. The "crispy, buttermilk dipped" chicken breast was not crispy and completely without flavor. Quite frankly, it tasted like it came from a microwave as it was very rubbery. I really cannot say the service was bad--it was basically non-existent. Our server simply disappeared for times and the other staff simply ignored us. But, from my observation, other guests were equally ignored by the staff. For the hype and prices in this place, service should be close to perfect. It was not. With all the really good restaurants in the neighborhood, why anyone would dine here is beyond me. Don't waste your time or your money here. And one last thing, please ask your guests to remove their ball caps when entering the dining room. If I am spending $100 for lunch for two, I think would be nice not to look at folks wearing a gimme cap backwards.
Horrible service. I can’t begin to describe how horrifying the raw piece of fish that I was served was. The manager felt so bad that he brought out two free entrees but my appetite was gone. Took over ten minutes to get a waiters attention to tell him about the issue. Also the room was freezing and both tables on either side of me as well as me myself complained. It was uncomfortably cold with jackets on.
First time there for brunch on Christmas Day. I’ve already scheduled Ne Years Eve dinner. Superb!
The food was very good, but the service was very slow. They seemed overwhelmed with the number of guests on Christmas Eve. We waited a long time for the bottle of wine that was ordered. At the end we had to ask several times for the check. We had somewhere to be and frankly missed our ride due to the slowness of service. The server was friendly and courteous. I don’t think it was his fault, just short staffed!
The filet Oscar was fabulous. The only issue was one of attentiveness. Water glasses were often empty or low. The bread basket remained empty for a time. Finally, the wine came 5 minutes after the entree. At a $55 price point for a filet, one should receive first-rate service.
It was still a great atmosphere, and we really enjoyed ourselves. I am not gushing over the level of service.
I love the food, the service and ambience. It is definitely worth the drive (by drive, I mean the Uber). If we lived in Dallas, we would definitely go more often.
