Once the beautiful Victorian interiors of this old pub were restored to their original glory and the first floor dining room opened, along with outside terrace for dining, the locals must have breathed a sigh of delight before tucking into some seriously good gastropub grub. Business folk crowd in at lunchtimes, while friendlier couples and groups pack in evenings and weekends. There is something here to suit most palates and pockets. The menu changes daily - another sign that they're serious about food here - but we recently loved the fish chowder, and the aubergine, potato and spinach bhaji with yoghurt. The wine list is heaven.

    What a gem of a place. Amazing experience with incredibly good papardelli with beef ragu, and lobster risotto. Having wines from a menu using a Coravin system allowed us have a glass of Grand Cru Alsatian Riesling. We were totally impressed, and I would recommend Doppo for anyone who loves great pasta, and incredible wine.

    Fantastic food, friendly service and original cocktails. If you like mexican I can't recommend amend it enough, if you don't like mexican food this will change your mind. The Nachos are epic and the Chilli was simple and so tasty. Try the different home made chilli sauces, I ended up taking a bottle home.

    We were a party of four with a little baby in tow. We booked a table for dinner. Due to the heatwave on the day, it was very hot inside and we needed to move to a table outside. The staff were extremely nice and accommodating. The service was excellent, the food really tasty and well presented. You could tell that everybody working there really cared about customer service - which doesn’t happen that often these days. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening - highly recommended!
