Our menu accommodates a variety of dietary needs while prioritizing authenticity of classic comfort food dishes that are unique and delicious. We pride ourselves on being a community driven restaurant, supporting many local organizations and vendors to bring our guests the freshest possible dishes. Our entire menu is made to order and made on premises. All of our dressings, sauces, desserts and specialty foods are made only a few feet away from our cozy dining room. The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s. Today, the Grain House is a renowned restaurant in North/Central New Jersey, with a comfortable, casual ambiance. The restaurant serves innovative, traditional and contemporary interpretations of American cuisine with some added international accents, prepared under the direction of Executive Chef John Benjamin. Delicious homemade desserts complete the menus, which are revised several times a year.     The food was excellent from start to finish — the salads tasted fresh, the entrees were flavorful, and every dish was presented with care. Everything arrived hot and perfectly prepared, which showed the kitchen paid close attention to quality. Since it was a special occasion (Mothers Day), the restaurant became very busy and the staff tried tirelessly to accommodate everyone, but got overwhelmed. Management was exceptional as it applies to customer service and satisfaction.

    Everything was exceptional - the service was excellent- our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The food was beautifully plates and the flavors blended deliciously! Highly recommend the lobster bisque, the perfectly cooked sliders and the faro island salmon! The snapper special was wonderful too. Don’t miss out on the homemade desserts either! My only complaint was the restaurant was quite cold.

    Lovely brunch with friends. Wait staff super friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, the biscuits came out hot and are to die for. Can't wait to go again!
