We celebrated Mother’s Day at The Food Market in Columbia, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. What a gem this place is! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, exactly what you want for a special occasion. But the real highlight of our experience was our server, Ishmail. He was attentive, personable, and genuinely made us feel like we were the most important table in the room. He checked in at just the right moments without ever being intrusive, knew the menu inside and out, and even made thoughtful recommendations that we ended up loving. Ishmail is the kind of server who elevates a great meal into a truly memorable experience. He’s an absolute star! We also had the pleasure of chatting with Managers Eric and Asher, and it’s clear why this restaurant runs so smoothly, their warmth and professionalism set the tone for the entire team. They stopped by to make sure everything was to our liking, and that personal touch meant the world. You can tell they genuinely care about every guest’s experience, and it shows in the way their staff carries themselves. And the food..wow. Every single dish that came to our table was outstanding. The flavors were bold, the presentation was beautiful, and the portions were generous. Everything was cooked to perfection, and you could tell the kitchen takes real pride in what they put out. I had a great dining experience at Miss Toya’s Creole House. The food was absolutely delicious—I ordered the seafood gumbo and the appetizer platter with wings, fried green tomatoes, and egg rolls, and everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The margarita was also exceptionally good. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with nice, mellow music playing in the background, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and made sure all of our needs were met throughout the visit. Overall, everyone in our group truly enjoyed their meals and the experience. I would definitely return and recommend it to others!
