    Delicious food and a great menu on a warm evening - we had trouble choosing between a number of main courses. Very welcoming staff, friendly but professional. Reasonably priced drinks and a good choice. Garden lovely - surrounded by high walls and with trees and greenery. Inside also seemed light and airy.

    The service was excellent. The front of house Manager was very helpful and hardworking. It was a very busy hot day and the staff worked extremely hard.

    Substantial old (17th century?) roadside building recently thoughtfully remodeled with pub in the front, dining room in the back, and excellent food throughout. Travelers have been well-served here for centuries and the custom is beautifully continued by the young but experienced present owners. Outdoor dining when weather allows. Tastefully decorated bedrooms to let. The surrounding village is quiet and picturesque. The sine qua non of my own interest here is the simple diversity of the menu, the excellent preparation of the victuals, and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff.
