We always have great service and everyone is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Really enjoyed speaking with Lamar and Michael tonight. Lamar walked with us through the restaurant and helped us pick out a perfect table for our upcoming Mother’s Day dinner. Even though Michael wasn’t our waiter tonight, he stopped by to say hello and chat with us a bit. We are getting a great wine education from Michael, he truly has an incredible knowledge of wines. She answered all of our questions and made excellent suggestions. The food was outstanding. The presentations were works of art. The place had an exciting vibe. With one drink each, it is easy to spend $60 to $75 a person pre-tip. We came closer to the $75 and felt like we had received great value for our money. The Sea Bass was delicious and perfectly cooked. The calamari was not the usual fried rings. It was slices fried in a light, delightful batter. The edamame was tossed in a chili-based sauce (salted is available) and was the best we have had anywhere. The shasimi was thick-sliced and fresh. My wife won't eat raw fish, so she ordered the eel roll. Yum. Our friends had a huge, fresh salad and a lobster roll. There was plenty of lobster in the lobster roll. They also had the soup. Everything was special. The service was impeccable. The evening memorable. A hint: Costco seels $100 gift cards for $80. We used $300 worth and saved $60. We were concerned that the server might not get the full tip, but she assured us the she would. So we saved 20% on everything, tip included, and the server was properly rewarded for her role in making our evening so memorable.More infoSake A Gogo$$$$• Japanese• East Market St - NuLu•4.8
