    Umi is not a "seafood" restaurant; it is an incredible visual, culinary, interpersonal experience. La Mer, chef's prior location, has not been the same since Chef Garg left, but he continues his practice of innovative excellence at Umi. I chose one of the prix fixe menus with wine pairing, and it was exceptional. I look forward to returning to sample his latest fare and to take in the soothing and delightful ambiance.

    This place was terrific. The cocktails were outstanding (that is a big part of going there), and the dark, speakeasy vibe is terrific. There are so few places where it is dark and moody and this place is perfect. We shared a chop salad, mussels, Dover sole, black truffle risotto and loved every bite of all of it.
