Butterjoint is a comfy bar and restaurant located in North Oakland. Our welcoming and eclectic atmosphere is appropriate for almost any occasion - whether it be meeting a friend for a drink, celebrating an important event, or relaxing after work. Our menu is a mixture of familiar Pittsburgh foods (think pierogies, hamburgers, French fries) and French bistro classics (beef tartare, raclette, mussels), and seasonal classics that come and go throughout the year. We put care into our vegetarian dishes too, including making our own tempeh, falafel, and veggie patties from scratch. Menu items change frequently--usually every day--and reflect many long-standing relationships we have with farms and breweries in our region. In addition to reservations, we also have a thirty seat bar that is first come, first serve. We don’t know exactly how old the bar is, but it’s at least seventy years old (probably older) and very cozy. Our friendly bartenders are here to make something you like.

    Today was both Mother’s Day and my mother’s 76th birthday. She had never experienced Eddie V’s. The little touches of Happy Birthday confetti spread across the table and a birthday card, made her day. Not too mention the food was perfect. We had a crab cake appetizer, crab stuffed shrimp, ahi tuna, and lobster mashed potatoes. Additionally, Sean our waiter, was awesome!

    We had a great Mother's Day dinner at Hyde Park. The food was incredible and the service was next level - we had a large group of 9 and had 2 servers. I swear if one of even thought we needed something, one of our waitresses would pop up and ask if we needed anything (and we had 3 kids with us, so the needs were often and plenty!). Everyone said what a wonderful evening it was - we will definitely be back!

    From the atmosphere to the drinks to the food to the service, Ritual House was beyond incredible. Our server, Mikayla, truly made our experience one of the most memorable in Pittsburgh. We can’t wait to return!
