One of the best Italian food I’ve ever tried! Even better than Italian food in Italy

Returning after several years away, I was delighted to find that this spot is just as wonderful as I remembered. We started with the Camembert, which was every bit as delicious as it was years ago. For my main, the Veal Medallions were cooked to perfection. A special thank you to our waiter, Belfrey, who was incredibly accommodating and friendly. We sat outside and found the atmosphere perfectly comfortable for a family meal. It’s great to see some things never change.

O'denbar Umami has arrived in Potts Point as something genuinely special — a restaurant that delivers authentic Japanese cuisine with a warmth and attentiveness that is increasingly rare. The outstanding service is charming, unhurried, and clearly driven by a sincere desire to please. The menu is a thoughtful evolution of Busshari's much-loved classics, now enriched by the addition of traditional Oden — slow-simmered Japanese soups of quiet depth and extraordinary comfort. It is a pairing that feels both natural and inspired, honouring the familiar while offering something new to discover. Potts Point is fortunate indeed to have a restaurant of this calibre on its doorstep. O'denbar Umami is not merely a good local option — it is a world-class dining experience that deserves its success.

Fab food and decent price. Don’t know why this place isn’t packed every night. Excellent friendly service too. Got an outdoor table so could watch neighbourhood in full flow which was fun. Will be back!
