Best Date Night Restaurants in El Macero

Came the day before Mother’s Day to avoid the crowd and it was an excellent experience. Great food. Low wait time. Wonderful service.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times before, because it is one of the best in Sacramento. Our most recent trip was the best experience I’ve had there. The ever-changing menu was awesome, and the bill for four was palatable. Our server, Kyle, and the bartender Vince were both phenomenal. Vince is the classic bartender, who’s knowledgeable about many spirits and specifically for me - whiskeys. So far he is 4/4 on his recommendations. When I want something new to drink and something interesting to eat - Canon is the place. The people I bring there are always impressed. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Ella was truly a magical experience from beginning to end. The atmosphere was elegant yet inviting, the service was attentive without feeling overwhelming, and every detail felt thoughtfully curated. From the cocktails to the food presentation, everything was beautifully done and absolutely delicious. What stood out most was the overall experience — it felt special without trying too hard. The ambiance, lighting, and energy of the restaurant created the perfect setting for a memorable evening. You can tell the staff genuinely cares about hospitality and making guests feel welcomed. This was more than just dinner; it felt like one of those evenings you talk about long after it’s over. We left already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend for a date night, celebration, or simply a beautiful night out in Sacramento.

Everything was excellent from beginning to end! Food, service, ambience, etc. We started w/ the artichoke and spinach dip (delicious) and the coconut shrimp (delicious). I had the salmon (delicious), my husband had the ribeye (delicious) and our son had the burger (he said it was delicious).

This is great place to experience Omakase and it is surprisingly located in downtown Davis. Food quality is superb especially for fishes and sea urchin. Chef patiently answered my questions during the meal and well introduced the idea behind each course. Definitely will be back for a different seasonal menu in the future.
