Best Restaurants for Foodies in South Mountain

Truly an outstanding meal. The service was amazing - one of our party has a shellfish allergy and is vegetarian, which she always apologizes profusely for, and our server made sure she knew she’d be accommodated and that it wasn’t a big ask at all, it was very sweet. We did the suggested Arai Kodai meal and it was truly just an amazing experience, I’m so glad we went that route rather than ordering individual dishes. The server did ask for allergies + preferences, as well as spice level preferences, and then they brought out an array of dishes. I couldn’t possibly pick a favorite, there was not one bad dish brought out that evening. Every dish was packed with flavor, and there was a great balance between what was brought out, I felt like it really showcased the range of the restaurant. One of the best experiences all around I’ve had in a long time. Thank you so much for making us feel so at home, this experience far exceeded what I could have ever imaged.

This was a wonderful experience. Friday night date for my wife and I started with a couple drinks that were expertly crafted. I had the brisket washed Whiskey cocktail called a good the bad and the ugly… My wife had another drink that was fairly complicated and I don’t remember what it was called. We both were very happy with our choices Next, we had the Sabel fish ceviche we love ceviche, but this was different in excellent very light and citrusy my wife was in love with it I thought it was great, but she absolutely raved about it Next, we split the short rib taco plate, which was enormous and delicious. They had these amazing blue corn flour tortillas that you must get. Essentially it’s a taco board you build your own with a giant smoked short rib as the main meat tons of sauces and grilled peppers and slaw and everything you could want. I gotta say this was a ton of food and we finished about a third of it. Our waitress was amazing and said she would be happy to box it up for us within minutes. She came back out and you could tell she’s done this 100 times. We had another entire meal the next day, which was equally delicious. Overall, I really enjoyed this meal and I wasn’t expecting much going into it because I was unaware of the restaurant but coming out. I would definitely recommend if you live anywhere near Scottsdale. You should check this place out.

Our anniversary dinner at Quiessence was the best culinary experience of our lives. We chose the chef’s table and were seated right inside the kitchen, which made an already special evening feel unforgettable. Chef Christofolo and his team created a thoughtful six-course meal, with wonderful bonus courses woven throughout. Every dish came with a story: a different member of the team introduced each course and shared how the ingredients were sourced, prepared, and cared for. You could feel the talent and intention behind every detail. Karina, Faith, and the entire staff made us feel celebrated from the moment we arrived. The food, the setting, and the hospitality exceeded our expectations in every way. Quiessence is a true Valley gem, and we can’t wait to come back.
