Best Restaurants with Bar Seating in Financial District, Toronto / Ontario

Daphne was an amazing dining experience. I was in Toronto to enjoy Mother's Day Weekend and a family Celebration. Daphne was their choice of restaurant. Its very indiscreet street signage, to walking info a beautifully decorated welcomed us to an evening of sheer delight!! We had the MOST charming host/server Taren. He was professional, charming and was genuine in celebrating our family wedding engagement and pre-Mother's Day. Our food selection was a 12 out of 10!! We enjoyed Fito Misto, done in very light tempura. Then we had Rib Eye 16 ox, done to perfection., Lobster Cppelletti and Daphne Burger with truffled Fries and side of grilled brocollini. This was an sheerly elegant dining experience which ended with a sticky toffiee pudding to share. But that was not it,.....Taren then arrived with a "Congratulations on your Engagement" to our family and a "Happy Mother's Day" desserts to end off a "Perfect Evening" Thank you Taren and Daphne....see you next time I visti.

The service @Sammarco is unmatched and I always invite their recommendations! The evening kicked off with a stunning Piedmontese cocktail, Bordiga Occitan Gin (which features wild hand-foraged juniper) and Rhubarb . That set the mood for what came next, a platter of Gamberi Americano, literally to die for. In fact, a friend 's reaction to a photo was " Good Lord, those are over the top." One thing I never skip at Sammarco is bread service - I savoured mopping up that delicious Americano Sauce. Enjoyed a Pistachio Gelato and a really special Piedmontese Amaro, Amaro Ulrich.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of dining at Canoe in Toronto to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and the entire experience exceeded expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. The staff made us feel welcomed and ensured every detail of the evening was handled with care, which made the occasion feel even more special. The food was outstanding, beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared, with each dish showcasing both creativity and balance. Every course felt intentional, and you can tell the kitchen takes pride in delivering a refined dining experience. What truly set the evening apart, however, was the ambience. The view from Canoe is simply breathtaking. Overlooking the city from above, especially in the evening, created a perfect backdrop for a memorable celebration. It added a sense of occasion that you just can’t replicate elsewhere. Overall, Canoe delivered on every level: exceptional food, impeccable service, and an unforgettable atmosphere. It was the perfect setting for a special celebration, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it to anyone looking for a high-end dining experience in Toronto.

Considering there was 20 of us for dinner, the service was excellent!!! Our meals were served by a slew of servers all at the same time. Our server was on top of everything all night. Food was also delicious. Everyone said they’d gladly go back again . They also liked that fact that there was not an automatic mandatory tip because we were a large group. People had a choice and I know we gave 18% so thank you for that
