Please visit our website to learn more about The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges http://www.theinnatpoundridge.com/ Chef Jean‑Georges introduces his latest venture, a casually elegant restaurant ensconced in the picturesque town of Pound Ridge, New York. Here, Jean‑Georges cultivates a truly seasonal, farm-to-table cuisine, with ingredients sourced from the Hudson Valley and New England, whenever possible. Constructed in 1833 as a residence and serving later as an inn, the building has been painstakingly renovated to preserve as many of the original materials as possible, including four working fireplaces. Thomas Juul-Hansen designed the restaurant’s interior with a modern yet rustic sensibility; zinc and marble accent stone and reclaimed wood. The restaurant’s lighting, artfully conceived by Hervé Descottes, employs paper shades and Edison fixtures to create warmth throughout.

From the moment arrived until the minute we left we had an amazing time. Every dish was fantastic. Nobody was disappointed in anything we ordered. Not completely sure that the cadence of the dishes is accurately described, but in the end, it didn't matter. We had a great time. The service was awesome. The food was impeccable, and the environment was perfect.

This was our second visit to Troutbeck, this time for Pasta Monday; perviously for lunch. We were impressed by the quality both times. The array of ingredients and preparations in the pasta prix fixe was quite impressive. Indeed, referring to the meal as "pasta" is misleading. True, there are no chops, and a dedicated meat lover might be disappointed. However, the array of offerings in the first course belied the 'pasta' billing. These offerings ingenious in both presentation and the array of flavors.. Our one concern about the experience was the noise level. We were seated at 5:45, and all was peaceful. However, within about 30 minutes, the noise level began to spoil the atmosphere, and by 7:00 it was impossible for our group of 4 to carry on a conversation. Some noise dampening and/or spreading diners across multiple rooms would help enormously.
