Best Restaurants with a Fireplace in Plateau Mont-Royal

Bonaparte is a very elegant hotel restaurant that I noticed while walking around old town Montreal, and we decided to book it for dinner on our last night in town. The dinning room is lovely, comfortable, and quiet, the latter a relief after several nights of noisy bistros. We both had the tasting menu with the wine pairing, which enabled us to try most of the menu. Every dish was delicious, but the standouts were the foie gras creme brulee, the rabbit confit in phyllo, the perfectly cooked scallops, and the lobster. Our service was knowledgeable, polite, and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening there, and considering that we ordered the most expensive option on the menu, thought it was very reasonably priced. We'd recommend it!

The filet mignon , wild mushrooms and the baked potato were all delicious. The crème brulèe for dessert was amazing too, I found it was quite a big portion which is great. Our waitress was so pleasant. She asked the kitchen if they could make the wild mushrooms because they weren’t on the Valentine’s Day menu. All in all a wonderful meal.
